“Spectacular, fabulous swimming hole suitable for most age groups!”

Great facilities-just enough but too much to dominate the fantastic natural beauty of the area. Well maintained walking path to the falls. Plenty of room to leave your towel and great swimming spots to explore. Can't rate this spot highly enough.

“Amazingly Gorgeous”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2012

Spent the afternoon. Easy to find off the Bruce Highway and only a 700m walk from the carpark to the falls. It got busier as the afternoon went on with tourist buses coming and going but there is plenty of room for everybody to swim. We went after a relatively dry month so the water slide was restricted to only one side of the rock face but was very popular with everyone. You can climb up and walk further up to another swimming hole but the largest swimming hole is behind "do not enter" signs which is understandable once you view it from it's viewing deck- i'd imagine it's quite treacherous following large volumes of rain.

Lovely place to spend a few hours or even the whole day! Good for children but they'd need to be supervised because it can be quite fast running water in some places!

“Stunning”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2012

I have driven past this place so many times, I'm ashamed I didnt explore here earlier. It is a beautiful paradise a short drive off the highway. You walk 700m to the main swimming hole; the walk is a bit of a climb, but the walking track is stunning and the falls and swim definitely make it worth while.

You'd be crazy to miss it!

My only suggestion to the council would be to install some bins in the area - especially at the car park.

“GREAT SCENERY AND FUN FOR KIDS”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

Short walk to the falls which is good for the young and elderly
Beautiful waterfalls
Good fun to slide down the rocks on the lower pool (which is also safe)

Visited last week
there were some irritating flies which stings
BRING INSECT REPELLENT (however bad for waterfall, you decide)

“Crystal clear and beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

Growing up in Cairns I have so many beautiful memories of lazy summer afternoons spent at the waterfalls and swimming holes around Cairns. Back then Josephine was one of our favourites and far enough off the beaten track to be akin to a private swimming hole. Those days are long gone and the Falls are now on the tourist route and access is easy through a cleared path through the rainforest.

Even so, the beauty remains and hopefully the number of people now enjoying the Falls won't be its ruin. It really is God's creation displayed in all its splendor.
