We stayed in a 1 bedroom unit which had everything one needed. Very clean and view from balcony spectacular.

There were a few things that needed to be organised and staff were wonderful. Very pleasant and prompt service )something lacking with most Darwin businesses).

The pool was on the 6th floor which is shaded all morning so the water is quite cold even in the wet season and very windy as the wind is tunnelled through the buildings. There is alot of construction noise but was great in that the kids could make as much noise as they liked and no-one could hear them.

The new deli downstairs( I don't think is associated with the Mantra) makes fabulous coffees and wonderful breakfasts.
Location was good as you could walk into town each night and try a different restaurant.
We absolutely enjoyed our stay.
The only set back is the price of the accomodation

When I stayed at the Pandanas in September parts of the hotel were still under construction, but you never would have noticed.

I had a one bedroom apartment that was beautifully fitted. The bedroom has a very Asian feel with sliding doors and lovely bedspread and cushions.

The kitchenette was well appointed and the bathroom included a washer and dryer.

The view from the balcony was extensive, although there is such a lot of construction going on in Darwin at present and this featured strongly in the view.

The hotel is convenientlty located for the main shopping areas of Darwin and I strongly recommend Moorish Cafe for a great tapas meal (and fabulous sangria) just down the street.

We booked the room via Wotif so got a good rate ($43 per night). If it wasn't for the good price, I would be quite disappointed. Location is good, short walk to the Mitchelton St (however there is not much to see in Darwin at all!!!!). The construction of another hotel next door is still in full swing so it was very noisy to sit by the pool as the construction site (and all workers) was overlooking the pool. There are only 8 or so loungers by the pool so for the size of the hotel definitely not enough. But there is no space around the pool. Concrete jungle so it is quite unpleasant to be there. Gym is very small, only 1 trademill, 1 bycicle, 1 stepper and 1small tower. There are no dumbells or any other weights in the room so it is very basic. I also have to complain about the fire alarm going off at least twice a night!!! What's wrong with it??? It went off usually at 9 or 10pm and midnight. And it is very loud I can assure you. Apart from that, rooms were clean, bed was king size and bathroom was also OK. Overall, if it wasn't for Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks there wouldn't be much to see. I would definitely not come back to Darwin second time.

Stayed here recently for work. It is about time Darwin got a "new" not refurbished hotel for people to stay in Darwin.

I booked a 1 Bedroom apartment and was not dissapointed. Price wise it is not cheap compared to other capital cities and I guess they take advantage of the limited new accomodation in Darwin.

POSITIVES

* New and very clean rooms
* Large TV with pay Channels.
* Fully stocked kitchen to make your own meals.
* Great air conditioing x 2 in the apartments
* Large balcony (Needs some furniture on it though to enjoy the sunset)
* Big bathroom with laundry facilities

NEGATIVES

* Room service is from restaurant downstairs. You have to request a menu and it is not cheap. Better to eat down there or out in Mitchell Street. Much better options
* Internet is HUGELY overpriced. I paid $66 for 10 hours. Speed was good but that is so wrong! cafes down the road.
* Fire alarm going off most nights.
* Parking an extra $10 per night after paying top dollar for the room.
* Common areas very dirty with bottle tops, rubbish bags and such left in hallways for hours on end. But the rooms are great - go figure?
* Elevators so sllooooowwwww. You are in the tropics....

When I was checking out a guest was giving their feedback to the hotel front desk. They looked like they did not care. Seems he ahd issues with clealiness and that his breakfast tray was still in front of his room at 5pm. As long as it is not in your room. :)

Will stay again.....

I stayed at Mantra Pandanas with my wife in August and we were bitterly disappointed by the amount of noise that was coming the contruction site at the side of the hotel. There's no sleeping in.

While reception staff were courteous and helpful and the room was spacious and well appointed our stay was ruined. We left early and were not offered compensation. This is on top of an already hefty price tag.
I don't recommend the Mantra Pandanas.

Unfortunatly I didn't take any pictures of the crane and concrete trucks from our balcony to attach to this report.
