If you have some time free, it is worth a visit, but don't expect it to be of the standard of larger aquariums.

This place is interesting to visit, the displays are reasonable and provide a good overview of the marine habitat of Darwin. But it is a very small exhibition, over priced for what it is, but I guess it is expensive to run such a place. The guide was passionate and pleasant.

The owner of this place is also guiding you through this aquarium. And he makes it worth it. He knows a lot and wants to share his knowlegde, it is easy to see that he lives for the place. The reef aquarium is amazing.

Nice easy walk for all ages. Badge of honor for aquarium lovers and information seekers. Not quite an action packed attraction for my two boys........but I will be taking them back when they get older.Easy parking.Next to a restaurant and the new convention centre.add it to your attraction list for Darwin.

This was one of the most interesting attractions I have ever seen.

From memory, the exhibits were put together by a husband and wife team who had a passion for the marine environment. The building is neither flashy nor very modern but the jewel in its crown is definitely the self-sustaining indoor reef ecosystem. Apparently there are only three in existence in the world. I found it to be impressive and is the highlight of my visit to Darwin.

If there is a reason for me to go back to the city, it would be this. I would honestly go back just to see how the indoor reef is doing :)
