“A real home from home”
Reviewed September 6, 2013

This b and b is a real find! From the moment you arrive you feel like a member of the family.Nothing is too much trouble. Carol, Geoff and Alan ( not forgetting Molly the dog and Lucky the Indian ring- necked parrot) do all they can to make you feel at home.

The rooms are spotless and we loved the wet room. Possibly the most comfortable bed ever. Breakfasts are delicious - lots of fresh local produce.

If you're visiting the Top End you must stay here!

I have no hesitation in recommending the Bromeliad Bed and Breakfast to anyone wanting a more personable place to stay, rather than a room in the usual hotel or motel. The rooms are spacious, very clean and have an adjoining ensuite (SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES). A welcoming gift on our bed and complimentary toiletries in the bathroom were also much appreciated. The breakfast was wonderfully set out with a choice of cereals, fresh fruit, stewed fruit, preserved fruit, toast, local jams and honey, coffee and tea. My 2 sisters and myself were on holiday in the northern Territory and returned from Katherine a day earlier than expected, not realizing the difficulties we would have finding a place to stay. Carol, Geoff and Allen welcomed us into their home at almost 9pm and provided the best cup of coffee before we retired for the night. Come morning we enjoyed our breakfast followed by a casual wander around a well laid out garden, full of bromeliads, orchids and several other flowering plants. My only regret is that we didn't find out about this B & B sooner as we would have spent more time with our lovely hosts. I am still trying to find a supplier, in Perth, of the towels provided in the en-suites... they are so soft.

I recommend this B&B as everything it promises to be in its advertising; I recently spent five nights there. The hosts Carol, Geoff and Allan are very welcoming and helpful. The bedroom, with large ensuite bathroom, was delightfully fresh and clean, with quality toiletries provided. The 'Aussie' Continental Breakfast is huge, with a range of fruit, cereal, toast and condiments provided, along with freshly brewed coffee made to order by Allan. It's in easy proximity to the airport, with direct routes into Darwin CBD and tourist spots. If you haven't got a car, you can catch the Darwin bus service nearby. All in all, a great accommodation place - highly recommended!
