“Bit disappointing”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

Worth stopping off at if you're passing, but only takes 5 minutes to see it all. Got to park ages away if you're not disabled (a lot of dispicable people ignore the signs). Walking anywhere in Darwin in December is pretty yuck, at least it's cool inside. Kids might like it.

Great spot. Very good view as well. Well worth the trip. The Wetlands are beautiful. Love Darwin and the surrounding areas. We visited on our way to the Adelaide River to see the crocs.

“Wetlands Tour”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

Briefly passing through Darwin and Graham's Wetlands Tour that ended at the Wetlands Visitor's Centre served up a good cross section of the Darwin area. Not just of the wildlife, but the history and culture, which is so interlinked. Graham was a charming guide and discussion throughout the tour, as well as over wine and nibbles as the sun set, was enlightening. This tour suits those that wish to gain knowledge people and place as well as flora and fauna. Recommend for solo travellers or small groups looking for a thoroughly good overview to Graham's homeland.

“Window on the wetlands visitor centre”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

We were taken to this location, as part of the Adelaide River jumping crocodile tour. The centre is open 7 days a week with free entry to the general public. The centre provides interactive displays about the history of the region.

There is a small cafe upstairs and a viewing deck - binoculars are available to view the large variety of birds and plant life. A lift is available for less able visitors. The centre is located on a hill for panoramic viewing of the area.

If travelling by car, it is advised not to get out along the way due to crocodiles living in the lily pond. However you can stop to admire the huge water lilies from the safety of the bus or car.
