“Hot water, sand and great facilities- perfect for families!”

Loved the fact that there was sand for my one year old to play in- this is perfect for families with young kids because they can play all day and tire themselves out in the water and there aren't any big cliffs like some other water holes so you don't have to watch them the whole time. The camping facilities are also great. its a bit dry and dusty at this time of year and very hot up at the camp ground but you could spend all day by the springs (which is literally down the stairs from the campground) where there is shade and just go up top to sleep and eat. there are toilets and showers and fire pits and wooden benches at each camp site and those annoying people with generators are pointed to one side of the campground so hopefully you don't have to sleep right near one! :-)

We visited the Douglas Hot Springs during July and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very inexpensive camping with basic facilities but very relaxing, especially sitting around a campfire at night soaking in the warmth. The water level was down a bit so we had to dig holes in the sand and make a bath, but as a natural hot spring it is hard to go past.

If you feel like doing something different in Darwin well the hot springs are good but to me not really a day trip more like an overnighter as it says hot springs you can injoy laying around in them while the water bubbles up through the white sands something done better in the middle of the dry weather is a bit cooler

We visited the hot springs while camping elsewhere in the region. The springs themselves are amazing with the two streams - one hot and one cold - converging into a lovely warm waterhole downstream. The creeks are shallow and great for kids. The day we were there it was not too busy and it was very pleasant. The hot spring can be very hot so careful with the Young ones. The campground looked dry, dusty and busy and with no ranger on site to monitor things could get a bit crazy at peak times.
