“If you want to see the critters up close this is the place to do it”
Reviewed July 23, 2011

The Croc Farm as it is commonly called certainly is the right place to get up close and personal with the Top End's most infamous killer, the salt water crocodile.

I have to be honest and say that I dont really want to get that close to them anywhere else but here as they are very, very frightening beasties.

But you definitely will get the chance to see them at close range and to gain a very healthy respect for these predators.

“This Farm is now closed to the Public”
Reviewed July 7, 2010

The Crocodile Farm some 40 kms from Darwin on the Stuart Highway has been closed now for a couple of years to the public. A couple of the larger crocs have been shifted to Crocosaurus Cove in the CBD which is a sister organisation . The farm still operates but it now only concentrates on the preparation of crocodile skins and products and not tours.

“Somewhere different”
Reviewed February 24, 2007

You might think it's going to be similar to crocadylus park, but it's not quite a "presented". The crocs here are bigger and have a bit more space around them. It's a bit further out for a drive down Stuarts Highway, but still worth the visit.

The gift shop is a bit more interesting than the Croadylus park too. Again, make sure you get an export certificate if your going to be buying anything made out of crocs.

Not so suitable if your unsteady on your feet as there are no real paths between the pen areas. You can however get more chance to roam about here and the crocs made a better photo opportunity in a real lake.

When we went, it was breading season, so a few of the crocs had laid eggs... this makes them very protective... Be warned. Don't get too near to the fence. Ha. And watch out for the red ants... If you stand still for too long, they'll have your feet. And they bloody hurt too !
