“Good Sangria”
Reviewed May 3, 2014

Viva La Vida is a favourite of ours although last time we visited it was very quiet. Friday nights are usually busy. There are several types of Sangria to try by the jug and we are a fan of most of their dishes. The sweet potato fries, croquetta's, sardines, salt and pepper calamari and onion rings are great, in fact I don't think that we have had a bad dish. They do excellent desserts, try the mint chocolate pot plant and churro's. I reserve my opinion on the candied bacon ice-cream on waffles but it certainly is interesting. If going late in the week would be worth booking a table.

“Very average food”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

A group of us went here recently for a birthday lunch. It was terrible. Deep fried, overcooked, many items not as they were described on the menu and missing ingredients. It's a shame, the food here used to be lovely as a tapas style menu. We left hungry/and or feeling sick from all the oil!

“Don't Bother”
Reviewed March 26, 2014 via mobile

Came here excited because I love tapas and wine, maybe our expectations were too high because we were sorely disappointed.
Service was largely disinterested in seating us, took over 10 minutes before we were offered a drink, took another 10 minutes to get one beer and one glass of wine, took another 20 minutes before we could find a waiter to place our order (actually had to get up from our table and go find one).
The food was boring, with none of the inventiveness or flavour we were hoping for.
Won't be going back as this was a really unpleasant experience.

“Funky city spot with fabulous service”
Reviewed March 9, 2014 via mobile

A great little find in the heart of Darwin city... Right in the Smith Street Mall.

The air conditioned dining area and friendly staff were welcome relief from a typically steamy Wet season day.

Enjoyed a quick and easy lunch... The sweet corn and chicken quesadillas and chorizo and prawn paella were very tasty.

Each day Vida offers a daily special...for instance, Monday is $15 pizza day.

The biggest selling point... The fabulous staff... So nice to have friendly faces in a Darwin restaurant... Often this can be hard to find!

Looking forward to going back for dinner in a couple of weeks.

“Not bad”
Reviewed February 16, 2014

We went here for a friends birthday, now i had no expectations in regards to this restaurant but i still have a standard & in some aspects i felt a little let down.
cost of food was reasonable so couldnt complain about that & drink prices werent too bad, service for dinner was tardy at best, after we (group of 8) ordered our meals we waited approx 15 minutes then it began to be brought to our table, they somehow forgot 3 orders.
Bar service was average & at times VERY slow, maybe it was a very busy night so im going again to see if it was just a bad night, BUT out of 10 i would say a 7 is best i would give it
