Downtown Darwin - large duplex room with good kitchen facilities, sitting room etc. Only stayed the one night so not very much use, but would be great for a family. Front desk pretty dozy (front doors locked well after the stated 6AM opening) despite many people waiting for early pick-up to Kakadu.

Just finished a week-long workshop at Mirambeena Travelodge. The package offered was great overall with the only problem being wireless technology. I had to arrange my own as the hotel really had no idea of its own capability. For the 60 plus people we catered for, they were well fed and watered over the week and strongly believed they got value for their accomodation dollar.

The facility offers family options and with a safe pool area is very kid-friendly too.

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel 2 weeks ago and the facilities are actually really good. It is also well located in Darwin so walking around the CBD and waterfront of Darwin is easy.
The cleaning and maintenance staff were excellent.
Our only gripe was that the majority of the front desk staff lacked personal skills . We have been told that it is hard to maintain staff in Darwin as they are not on big pay like the miners and accommodation is very expensive for staff to stay in Darwin.
However I would recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, easy access and facilities.

Room Tip: All the rooms should be good as it is a quiet hotel with good airconditioning.

Rooms are clean and ist quiet. Staff however is not reliable.

We just needed a paper for the nights that we stayed there, and they didn't want to give it. Our plane had 1 day delay, so we stayed there only 1 night (although you have to pay 2 - no possibility to cancel the night). For the insurence, we needed an evidence that we checked in a day later. First they didn't want to give it. Next shift of staff did give it, after a long discussion.

Why not giving creditcardnumber: I wanted to pay cash (no sursharge of 1,5%). They charged me (without asking) 1 night on my creditcard and 1 night cash... they just do what they want when they have your number.

(no free wifi).

Hotel is conveniently located near woolworths, and about a 15 minute walk to the harbourside precinct. We stayed is a split level studio for four nights. Room was basic and a bit old but nothing particularly wrong with it except for the balcony door seemed to have come off its runner and was difficult to lock for this reason. The best part of our stay here was the pool !! - lovely and big enough that it wasnt cramped with others. Overall if you are not fussy this place will do fine.

Came here during a business trip for 4 nights. The hotel is generally clean although the rooms are a bit dated. Aircon was freezing on arrival and the beds only have thin sheets - no duvet. Location is quite good and central and the staff were pleasant and helpful. My only annoyance and reason for my low cleanliness score was a coffee cup that went uncleaned on the table for 3 days and ended up with things growing in it.

Large motel in a central location to Darwin's attractions and shopping areas. Room was large, comfortable and everything worked. Also all of the tours we booked before our holiday used the Travelodge Mirambeena as a pick up spot and the Travelodge provided comfortable seating while we waited. We didn't use the restaurant as it was far too dear. The pool area looked very inviting and always had plenty of people around it. Staff at reception when we arrived were all young but we did have some communication problems. I would have rated this motel as Very Good if it wasn't for the extra charges at checkout. To use a credit card for payment there is a 2% surcharge which we resent paying. As a business, the cost of a Merchant Facility is surely a business expense, which is written off on their Tax and not the burden of a guest who is already paying enough just to rent the room. Plus we were charged an extra $7 for Mini Bar use which we never used. Of all things it was for confectionary which we don't eat and didn't even register was in the room. My husband never argued the point. It was very early in the morning and it would have been our word against the housemaid who wouldn't have even started work that day. We were so annoyed about the credit card surcharge that this added charge was the final straw and we just paid the bill and left with a very sour taste in our mouths. Won't stay there again or recommend the place to anyone on principal.

Room Tip: Check your Mini bar items before the room is made up to avoid false charging. We stayed on the four...
