“Fabulous location!”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

Right at the coast nearby to Fannie Bay and is located near to shops & public amenities! Only difficulty can be the algal bloom or occasional croc! Be aware and read all the signs!

“Sand dirty and not safest of swims”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

Went with the family. The actual beach part no use for building sandcastles etc as sand very dirty. The lake fine for adults and confident swimmers but not really for kids. The BBQ area not clean and seemed to be lots of biting insects when we were there. Could probably give this a miss and go instead to either Darwin harbour front or recreational park....

“BBQ, playground, and swimming lagoon”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

Lake Alexander is the perfect place to give kids a break from the sight-seeing. It has a great multi-age appropriate playground (also wheel-chair accessible), safe swimming lagoon, outdoor showers to rinse off, shady picnic areas, BBQ facilities, toilets, drinking water bubbler etc.
I'll admit that the lagoon bank was a little too muddy for me to want to swim, but the kids had a great time.

Lake alexander is a quiet place to enjoy a relaxed moment in Darwin. You can swim at the lake or just lay under some tree.

“Restful and serene”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

On a warm Darwin day you often feel like stretching out on the grass and enjoying a lazy day, reading a good book, enjoying a great picnic lunch, engaging in interesting conversation with friends. Well, if this fits you then head out towards East Point Reserve, and before you get there you'll find yourself passing Lake Alexander. Placid water, shady trees and soft grass - while over the road the expanse of Darwin Harbour. Stop off and take time to smell the roses.
