Owner description: Darwin Harbour Cruises have two luxuriously restored vessels, the “Charles Darwin” and the “Tumlaren”. We offer a wide range of harbour cruises to suit all budgets and tastes. The “Charles Darwin” is a 25-metre tri-level Catamaran, she has been lovingly restored and now offers a range of harbour cruises and all the facilities of a floating restaurant. The delicious meals are prepared on board by the top quality staff and only the freshest Australian Seafood and local products are used. The “Tumlaren” is a 20-metre schooner that has also been restored to immaculate condition. The “Tastes of the Territory” Sunset Cruise includes complimentary sparkling wine at Sunset and delicious light Territorian style tasting platters. Our experienced crew share interesting and informative commentary on the sites and rich history of Darwin Harbour, Cyclone Tracey and WWII. Both vessels are available for private charter.

“Charles Darwin sunset dinner cruise”

What a meal!!! The oysters were the best I,ve had in years and the local prawns were spectacular!! In addition, there was beef, chicken, vegetarian stack, salads and I can,t remember what else! And a small dessert selection and fruit.

I chose the 2hr cruise on the Charles Darwin as it was airconditioned and that was good on a warm Darwin night.

My only criticism would be that the staff could announce where and when to see the sunset and that the sunset in very quick (compared to other places). After all, it,s billed as a sunset cruise!! Also, if you don,t know Darwin you may need a cab to get to the wharf where the boat leaves or ensure you leave ample time to walk there from the city.

“Charles Darwin Sunset Buffet Dinner Cruise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 21, 2012

Lived in Darwin for 40+ years and been on a couple of dinner cruises. The Charles Darwin Sunset Buffet Dinner Cruise was the best by far. Awesome food, excellent friendly service from staff, friends where awed with the whole experience. Well worth the reasonable price. Definitely recommend to locals and visitors alike.

We recently went on the Two Hour Sunset Buffet Dinner Cruise in Darwin Harbour. I must say it was excellent!! The food was of a high standard, served hot and fresh. The oysters and prawns were so fresh and tasty. There was plenty of food to serve the full boat promptly. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. As usual though parking was difficult and had to walk a fair distance but apart from that we could not fault the cruise. Would highly recommend.

“terrific cruise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2012

I have lived in Darwin for over 30 years and never done a dinner curise - far too touristy! We had elderly friends with us from UK who have been visiting Darwin yearly for 20 years as well as come other locals, none of whom had done this before for the same reason. This was excellent. We were all really surprised. We all really enjoyed it. Food was fantastic for buffet food (and I generally avoid buffets if at all possible), the staff were excellent, scenery was great, alcohol prices not too bad for a captive audience and to cap it off ( pure co-incidence) there were fireworks at the end of it.

“Superb food, great value, lovely evening”

Highly recommend the Sunset Seated Dinner Cruise on the Alfred Nobel. The food was incredible - chicken skewers waaayyy more tasty than most; fresh hot bread rolls; incredibly fresh oysters and prawns; barramundi... etc.. Good value and nice wines to purchase. We were seated with another couple, both facing outwards from the boat (on a triangle shaped table) and had a great time. The night was perfect really - beautiful sunset, calm waters... And value for money was amazing - $110 ph for a really good 4 course dinner. Treat yourself!
