I have recently experienced a heli fishing trip with Airborne solutions for my daughters 21st birthday. We departed Katherine and fished around the mouth of the Roper River. The amount of fish that we caught and released was incredible, and the scenary that we were priviledged enough to see was fantastic. I would recommend this company to anyone who is wanting a once in a life time charter of the top end. A big thank you to Clinton and Rankin for one of the best weekends ever!

after deciding whether or not to spend the amount it cost to go on this tour , we three adults decided stuff it lets just do it , and we were so glad we did ! we were met at the airport by "Grant" our pilot for the day , advised of our itinerary and away we went , doors off and away to the first stop of Dendee Lodge , a beautiful beach on the coast where marquis , a beautiful platter and ice cold drinks with the very helpful " Maddie" to look after us whilst ere were there , we felt like very "important people " , next stop was Crab claw island , a resort on the beach front where there are only 7 permanent residents and lodges to rent if you so desire , once again drinks all round and still discussing how amazing this whole "tour" actually was , then off to Litchfield pub which was closed due to public holiday for a quick fuel stop, then on to Goat island a tiny spot on the river bend on the Adelaide river , where we had buffalo burgers (pre ordered by Grant) ,more beer and free entertainment provided by Kai and his menagerie of animals that live there , ( we didn't fish as rains have not happened , it was supposed to be the wet season) and everyone advised no one was catching anything , but it would have been great here . Then on to the famous Humpty Doo pub where we landed on the carpark grass , with more drinking and discussion's... This tour was THE BEST THING WE DID IN DARWIN , and our Son who has been living and working in Darwin for 2 years , said this was the best thing he had ever done, the whole time he has lived here! Grant was fabulous , very informative, professional and friendly and we couldn't thank him enough. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED. tip - use sunscreen as I got helicopter sunburn arms. will post photos later !

WOW! What an adventure! I was S.P.O.I.L.T for Christmas this year and I'm not complaining.
I did the Heli Pub Tour with my Mum and partner and thanks to our pilot Alistair, we had the best time. Our first stop was The Lodge of Dundee where on arrival we were met by Julianne and walked to our own private beach cabana with a cheese and prawn platter and cold drinks waiting. We were soon off again, landing this time on Crab Island. There is an option to go fishing at this stop but we chose to visit another pub instead! From there it was lunch time and we headed to Litchfield Pub to feast on barramundi and drink more beer, wine and ciders! Close to a culinary coma, we were once again off and away this time to Goat Island and a singing dog called Hotdog and his owner Kai. Our final stop was the Humpty Doo Hotel before we returned to the airport. On course to each destination, Alistair also provided interesting information on the areas below and proved himself a very knowledgeable guide.
This truly was a unique, once in a life time experience that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting or living in Darwin and wanting to do something a little different.
Helpful tips for the day - take mozzie repellent and sunscreen; you are required to purchase your own drinks at each stop including lunch; our helicopter seated 3 passengers plus the pilot so the tour is quite intimate; maybe hold back on the karaoke over the intercom... and remember that everyone will be 'totes jelly' when you step out of the chopper so make sure you are having fun!!

My usually unromantic husband booked this activity as a surprise for our 10th wedding anniversary.

And what a lovely surprise it was. Helicopter flight to Indian Island, flying over the pristine waters of Darwin Harbour, landing on a deserted beach. Our pilot Grant ensured there were no crocs about before dropping us on the beach, set-up a lovely banquet complete with sparkling wine and cold beer.

Highly recommend this luxury adventure, very romantic and peaceful, excellent customer service, knowledgable experienced pilot, lots of fun, very memorable experience!

Smooth flight, knowledgable commentary on key sites. Well organised, delicious choice of sparkling wine and sophisticated selection of nibbles. We saw brumbies and pigs from the air along with the spectacular views. Recommend for an occasion to remember...So impressed I said "yes"...
