“Must do”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013

We chose this company because we didn't want to hire a car and they provided transport from Darwin. The pick up was a 1pm which suited us because we could do something else in the morning. The journey from Darwin was about an hour and we enjoyed seeing the area outside of the city. The driver was informative and we were able to see mango trees but because the mini bus was quite old, the sound quality from the mike was not good. We then went through a really interesting wetlands area, saw lots of birds and stopped at an interpretive centre covering the ecosystem of the wetlands which was really interesting. We arrived at the destination and we were able to hold a children's python and learn about snakes before boarding a boat to cruise down the Adelaide River. This river was full of crocodiles and we were given so much interesting information about them by a really enthusiastic team of staff. We also saw eagles and kites. I would definitely recommend this company to others, it was a fantastic afternoon out without commercialism.

“Stumpy - a must see”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2013

We took the coach trip out to here, very good guide. Due to only 10 people we got the small boat so were quite low in the water - a definite advantage. The girls took us out and we had three or four stops to feed the crocs - the height the crocs get is impressive and got a couple of the young girls on the trip screaming quite impressively especially when one croc appeared suddenly right beside them.
The boat was taken up the embankment once to allow us to see how big 'stumpy' was, almost as long as the boat.
Even without the crocodiles, the other wildlife (birds) seen was worthwhile.
On return we had an adequate snack at the - my first taste of crocodile (yummy).

“You will not be disappointed.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

The boat was not crowded, everyone had a spot to view the river.

As we cruised the crocs would come alongside the boat. Some were lazy and not interested in jumping for the food - they must have had full stomachs! We managed to see a few jumping and got some good photos.

We enjoyed seeing the birds swoop to take food from the hands of the crew.

Free tea and coffee was available prior to the cruise.

Recommend you book and then pay on arrival.

“Nothing Short of Spectacular!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

This was one of the highlights of our visit to Darwin. Spectacular Jumping Cruise was recommended to us by our hotel in Darwin. It is about an hour drive outside of downtown Darwin. We drove along the Stuart Highway until it met the Arnhem Highway. As if we were driving to Kakadu National Park we took the Arnhem Highway until we arrived at Spectacular Jumping Cruise. The cruise site is located at the rear of the 'Window on the Wetlands' along a gravel road. You don't see the Adelaide River until you park and arrive at the cruise. The boat was very comfortable and safe. There was not a bad seat along the boat as everyone has a 'window seat.' Another positive is the staff. They are very knowledgeable about the Adelaide River area and make a point of showcasing the crocodiles to both sides of the boat. The highlight of the tour was meeting Hannibal. Hannibal is one of the oldest and therefore largest crocodiles along the Adelaide River. The River itself is a freshwater river and incredibly murky. I assumed it was brackish water but it is indeed freshwater; and, its largest inhabitants are all saltwater crocodiles. You are guaranteed to see them. Some will swim right up to the boat and wait for a Texas-sized ribeye to float just above the water on a string. Then, they jump with the force of their tail and attack the meat. It's an incredible display of force and violence. In all, we saw about 12 crocodiles and fed four of them. An absolute must for anyone visiting Darwin.

“The ultimate croc experience in a natural setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013 via mobile

I assumed this tour would be really corny but with two young boys we thought we would give it a go. I left with a different view and a new appreciation of how these dinosaurs live and what they are capable of.
Well done to all the girls, your passion for the animals shines through.
