Living in the Centre, we occasionally head out of town to do some star/planet gazing.
It is one of the most spectacular regions in the world to do this without the "light pollution" of nearby cities or towns and because we have been astronomy/cosmology buffs for many years.
While in Yulara for a break we booked in with Outback Sky as a special occasion for us.

You will learn about the history of the universe, the big bang theory and the life and death of stars which will definitely heighten your knowledge and understanding of the universe.
A use of telescopes, binoculars, (and we also brought our own), will enhance your viewing as one of the best experiences you can have in this magical region of the world.

“Heavens above !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2014

We took the Astro Tour on our recent weekend to Uluru. We have to say the experience was FANTASTIC. Our 3 guides met us in the town centre at 915pm, and after a short walk into the sands behind the car park, introduced us to the wonders above. With the use of two large telescopes, binoculars and iPad displays, not to mention a obvious knowledge and passion for the stars, we were intruduced to the wonders of the cosmos.

Although we were hampered by a extremenly bright full moon and some clouds, we were still able to gaze onto celestrial wonders of the night sky. Even my wife, who only booked the tour for me, was amazed.

A definite WOW attarction.

A perfect activity for outback Australia. An enthusiastic guide to the heavens that remains with us as a spectacular memory of our trip to the Red Centre.

“Outstanding!”

Honestly, the choice between Sounds of Silence and this one, the Family Astro Tour, if u have kids, is a no brainer. Thus is the best, the kids won't be too keen on the roo and croc meats and looong nite of SOS, and this rocked! Perfect night sky, a huge telescope, stories and info to blow your mind, my 11 yr old loved it and we had kids there from five to, well 50! Awesome! Excellent value too! Do it!

Certainly, the best souvenir from my trip to Australia.
The environment is magic, the two young professionals has great skills, and give a really good and entertaining explanations to the severals objects we had the chance to watch thru the hi-quality telescopes.
A must do while in Ayers Rock.
