Ordered the Calzone and Carabonara, nice large portions and very very tasty. Best meal I had while in Alice Springs.

Good food, but minimal table service (as is usual in Australia). Limited selection of beers. Not much in the way of atmosphere. Closed on Sundays, which seems like an odd choice for a restaurant.

Like stepping back in time, we pushed our way through the low door that separated the take away section and entered what felt like a 1970's pizza restaurant in any country town. And this is not a bad thing - this place is no nonsense, good food and friendly staff. Yes, it is basic, but that's its charm. Don't come to Alice Springs expecting funky, modern places you've seen in the capital cities - embrace the history and special qualities you'll find once you leave your inner-city safety zone...

Now, down to the food.

First thing - don't over-order. The servings are generous to say the least. While we didn't experience the pasta, the pizza was extremely tasty and the base was thin but not dried out as is often the case. A medium was enough for us though I admit I would have eaten it all night it was so good.

There's a bar within the eating area which is handy and not overpriced. $5 lambrusco seems appropriate but there's also Australian red for $6 a glass.

It's funny reading negative reviews of this place - it seems the reviewers kinda miss the point. Go, enjoy the unpretentious history, the outback friendliness and most of all, the tasty food!

Good food, good fellowship, good company, what else do you need. Not a flash placebut a getin, get served and get out situation.

Without doubt the best pizza in The Alice. Always busy and can be a bit slow but always worth the wait. Lasagna also a highlight. Decor hasn't changed in 20+ years but the food is consistently good.
