n our first day of our post cruise tour of the Australian Outback and Coast we arrived in Alice Springs after a “challenging:” flight from Perth. Our tour was scheduled to stay at the Doubletree. Knowing that we were in the Outback in the middle of Australia far far from most things we did not know what to expect. It was a very nice facility. The Room was spacious and well kept; everything seemed to be clean and in good repair. Our specific room looked out over the golf course to the mountains beyond; very scenic. Staff was professional, friendly, and helpful.
Two situations developed both involving handling large tour groups:
~Bar service was slow. It appeared they were not ready to handle the number of people and the drinks requested in a quick fashion.
~The breakfast buffet situation was similar in that they seemed very challenged to maintain the buffet and clear the tables when a large number of tour members all showed up in a short period of time.
Knowing how tours operate I would hope that needed accommodations to correct this situation could be implemented.
All things considered we enjoyed our stay at the Doubletree and would stay there again if the situation presents itself.More
