We actually visited the Chasm in 2011. Beautiful and peaceful. Be sure to be there at midday to see the sun light up the brilliant red walls of the chasm a high noon.
Kiosk pathetic - no cakes or biscuits. Two teas took ages to appear and we were the only customers. Hire it out to someone who knows how to cater.

Such a great attraction should not be "pulled down" by such a tired Kiosk and facilities. This place is just out of Alice Springs. It is not remote. There is no excuse for not having a modern well equipped Kiosk. The food was second rate and service poor. The only reason it is still there is because the Chasm is such a draw card. What an opportunity for a new good operator.

So many reasons its a great place to visit. Friendly staff, open fire (in winter), brilliant coffee and good food, the start of one of the best day trips in the Larapinta trail, and spectacular beauty if you want to check out the chasm. This will cost but money's go into the up keep of the kiosk and surrounding area.

Stayed overnight and was on track for another night. Great to have a safe spot for the car. The coffee was terrific and the food and setting very nice. Staff were very friendly and the efforts to improve things were appreciated, particularly the shower for overnighters.
