“A great place.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2013

Standly Chasm is definitely worth a look. The walk in to the Chasm is easy enough although sometimes over the river bed and some rocks, but the scenery just walking in is beautiful. The Chasm itself is worth the walk, especially if done at the right time of day, roughly between 11am and 1pm, when the sun shines through the narrow opening and highlights the colours in the rock walls. The kiosk provides coffee and other drinks and food and has friendly staff. Although there is a fee whilst other places are free, it still should not be missed.

“Simpson Gorge is better and no entrance fee!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

This was a disappointing experience. Firstly being charged $10.00 to walk a rough track to see the Chasm was a bit steep. The Chasm was ok to look at however is not as good viewing as the Simpson Gorge. It was a hot day (38 Degrees) and whilst only a 1.2 KM walk was not as easy as you think given the terrain. The staff at the kiosk were good and when returning asked us inside to cool down in the air conditioning. It was a good spot for av cool drink.

“Not worth the entry fee”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

The entry fee ($10 for adults) is a turn-off, especially as the other sites in the Western Macs are free. The operators would be better off allowing free entry to the chasm and focussing on providing a better kiosk service and other extras.

“Beautiful and friendly”

This is a private property but the very friendly staff and excellent manager don't own the place so no need to complain to them about the entrance fee.

This is the palce to go for a little peace and quiet. The walk to the chasm itself is great for just taking in nature and the chasm is great for a little self reflection. If you time it right you'll the get the best view of the sun lighting up the rocks of the chasm, its worth it.
