Ibis Styles Alice Springs Oasis
Ranked #13 of 13 Hotels in Alice Springs
Reviewed April 20, 2013

To start with, you just don't come to central Australia for the hotels... And I don't mean this in a snobby, 'world traveller' sense - it's just that you really don't want to spend all your time in a hotel room when you have the wonderful scenery everywhere you look!

This said, a little bit of comfort is nice, as is a hot shower, some air-con when you're hot and a clean bed.

This, slightly tired motel in the heart of town is all of those things and a little more. Bonuses included a couple of pools, a free (yes, free!) continental breakfast (could be ungraded but I wouldn't bother), free water to fill out bottles in reception (thanks guys) and secure parking.

The room we stayed in for 3 days was cleaned daily and the bed was made to perfection. If I was picky, I'd say the bathroom is ready for a make-over and some of the furnishings are looking a little bit chipped. But remember the price-point and location and you'll have a nice time.

Look around for a good deal - we booked online with RatesToGo and found an additional 20% off code, so it ended up just over $200 for three nights! With local tourism in a bit of a slump - there are bargains to be had in Alice Springs and this hotel is one of them...

Thanks for a comfortable and affordable stay!

My husband & I stayed a total of 3 nights at the Ibis Styles Alice Springs 1 night before our safari and 2 nights after. The Ibis stored our excess luggage for 5 days while we were on Safari as we could take only a small bag on the 4WD bus to Uluru, Kata Tjuta and King's Canyon. The rooms at the Ibis were old but clean, comfortable and quite adequate. The people on reception were great and sorted out a few problems with the TV controller immediately. The Ibis has the great advantage of being easy walking distance to the city centre shops, restaurants, and hire car agents. Would definitely recommend the Ibis to other tourists.

This is a good standard Motel and represents exceptionally good value for the tariff.
Ignore the street address as all the even numbers are on the other side of Gap Road, you have to look for number 11 Gap Road or else come in the back gate off South Tce. The room we had was starting to look a little tired.

The location of the Ibis in Alice Springs is fairly central but the property is old & tired, the rooms needs to be completely overhauled & refreshed. It would be mainly suitable for backpackers, the rooms are deteriorating badly, the furnishings are very old & the floor coverings quite marked. The reception service was very good & quite helpful, the
restaurant was pleasant with the food quite edible.

Nice quiet room in the frangipani block over looking the smaller pool (I had emailed and asked for a quiet room). Easy walking into town for the shopping centres and Todd Mall. Continental breakfast was included or pay more for hot... bar and restaraunt good too. Todd River is behind the Ibis with a great path for walking or riding out to the gap. Staff were really helpful organising tour pick ups from the front door. Only downers were housekeeping forgot to make up our room and someone had put their grubby hands and feet on the wall beside the single bed, so it needed a scrub, the toilet cistern leaked a little when flushed... and wifi pretty expensive. Would definately stay there again..

Thanks very much for your review and I'm very pleased that you enjoyed your stay.

It's great to hear that you enjoyed the restaurant and also the nearby walking paths -- very handy and fortunately Alice Springs is quite flat -- not many hills!

Thanks for the feedback on the room -- we're working on it.

A note on the wifi -- we do have 15 minutes free wifi per day (per device) in all of the hotel's public areas. Our supplier has also just freed up the user access rights on the paid wifi, so guests can have up to three separate devices using one paid wifi code -- much better for the guests with smartphones, tablets and laptops. We hope that this works well for your on your next visit.

Thanks again for the feedback, and we hope to see you again before too long.

Stayed last year and vowed never to return - then did. What a difference 6 months makes! The rooms are refurbished and now sensational value, the Bar is clean and feels good, the Restaurant improved. Plus evidence of work being undertaken around the grounds..........now the best value in Alice Springs..........
