“Sunrise Tour worth getting up for at 4 am”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

Absolutely fabuolous tour. It was my first flight on a ballon so I felt a bit nervous. But the team of Outback Ballooning put my mind at rest.
We were picked up at our Hotel by the driver and taken near the Airport, after some safety briefing and explanation of weather conditions, as well as do's and don'ts the scenery unfolding was fabulous. After our safe return we had breakfast and time to take the desert in early in the morning. There were ample opportunities to take photos
A trip well worth considering!

“Great way to view Alice Springs”
Reviewed January 2, 2013 via mobile

The early start was well worth it. Took the whole family on a balloon ride near Alice Springs. Such a peaceful & enjoyable way to see the sunrise and the views around Alice. Alot of fun! Thanks the Baensch Family

“Early morning flight”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

Exciting first flight in an hot air balloon.

Picked up from hotel at 0415 by balloon companies driver and arrived at ballons location close to airport for instructions and flight safety. Got underway still in the dark but dawn just about breaking.
Our flight over the vast open land was just about 1 hour in length. Loads of photographs taken of the landscape and sun rising along with a freight train heading south.
We touched down just past the railway lines and the balloons support team were with us a short time afterwards.
Champane breakfast was to follow. The pilot them opened his "Office" in the middle of nowhere and payment was made. The remarkable thing to me was the pin & chip machine working in the middle of nowhere!
Great flight, Great Ballon staff, Great experiance. Well recommended!!!!

“Up Up and Away”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

This was the 2nd time we had been on a flight with Outback Ballooning, last time was in 2001.

Rising at silly o'clock we set out to the departure field and helped lay out the balloon ready for inflation. After some Health and Safety instructions we managed to clamber into the basket ready for the assent. The pilot was really good and a bit of a joker, keeping us informed all of the time as to what he was doing, where we were and what we were seeing.
We came to earth with a bit of a jolt and landed sideways, which all added to the fun of the experience.
The champagne breakfast was good, plenty to help ourselves to.
A very enjoyable experience and worth getting up for.

“What a way to start the day!”
Reviewed November 13, 2012

It's been on my bucket list for years. Well worth setting the alarm for 2:30 am. Charlie, Ron and Byron were friendly and welcoming. Great views over the area. An added bonus was sunrise on the day of the eclipse. Everyone was happy to assist with tasks associated with setting up and packing up. Ample food and drink was supplied for the "light" breakfast and more than enough time was provided to enjoy this part of the experience. Just one tip - don't wear your Sunday best. Everyone got very dirty in helping to pack up the balloon. I still can't believe it fitted into its bag!
