This motel was fantastic, the room was lovely and clean, the owners and staff were very nice, helpful, and friendly. They helped us out a tight spot and didn't make us feel like we put them out which made an unfortunate situation tolerable. The food in their restaurant was delicious and the service perfect. I'm probably gushing a bit, but that was how good it was.

Room Tip: Just ask!!! :)

We often stay in Comfort Inns in Canada - they are reliably clean and comfortable, and both Internet and parking are free. Food is at best an afterthought. The Comfort Inn in Wagga Wagga offered and delivered much more. First, we were welcomed (not greeted or met!) in a friendly and polite manner by the owners - a husband and wife team with a pre-school child in tow. They seemed genuinely interested in us...a nice personal touch. After a long drive we were tired and did not want to venture out - the in-house dining room seemed worth a try - and it was. It offered nicely prepared food from a short but interesting menu - but only for guests. Not fine dining, but certaily a step up from what we would call "family restaurants" back home. And the price was right - for the room and the meal. Topping it all off, breakfast was not your typical Comfort Inn fare. When checking out we met a business man who was at dinner the night before. He told us that he stays there four days per month. It is easy to see why.

Room Tip: The second floor rooms overlooking the river have a nice view

Checked in on a Tuesday afternoon. It was bakingly hot in Wagga and I had a few hours to my first meeting. I had an upstairs room overlooking the river, tuned into the test cricket and enjoyed the air conditioned comfort. One thing I did notice was that people walking alongside the river could look straight into the room.

It's an old period building on the front with a large motel complex built around a courtyard at the back. It looks a bit old and dated but every effort has been put into modernising the rooms and bathrooms. The bed was king sized and comfortable, there was a large flat screen TV, good minibar and a small balcony. The bathroom was huge, modern and well fitted out. Big glass shower, good ventilation, light and airy. Everything was clean and comfortable.

Parking was tight on the night I was there. The place appeared to be full and so I had to park out in the street when I got back from dinner.

Breakfast was served in the dining room. Service was exceptionally friendly and attentive. It was all very efficient as was checkout a few minutes later.

Summary? A comfortable place to stay, well located for pubs and restaurants, friendly service and obviously a lot of repeat custom from those travelling on business.

From the minute you step in the door you feel more like a member of the family than a guest. The modern, airy and spacious room was an unexpected surprise. The regulars who frequent the POW as a second home whilst on the road were welcoming and great fun and the meals in the restaurant were outstanding. Jo and Mick are absolutely fantastic and the level of service they and their team deliver would give alot of Sydney hotels something to worry about. Brilliant

This is a fantastic place to stay in Wagga. The owners are wonderful. The rooms and bath are all updated and very lovely. Plenty of parking and quiet area on the river. The Riverina restaurant and the Thirsty Crow pub are fabulous places to eat just across the street in this VERY charming area. Breakfast was great every morning (porridge, eggs, fresh cut fruit, yogurt, muffins, etc) and we ate dinner once at the hotel (grilled salmon and filet mignon) and was very high quality and fresh. I will definitely stay there again. Excellent value.
