We were looking for somewhere a little out of the ordinary to dine in Wagga and came across this great winery/restaurant. The staff were very efficient and attentive, we could not fault the service.
All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals of lamb, trout and Stuffed Chicken and we loved drinking the very good shiraz that was made in the next room ,as well as the olive oil produced here as well. Desserts and coffees enjoyed very much. Thanks!

I wouldn't normally write a review but I feel its important to stress how poor a restaurant this is.

As this is a restaurant that offers entrees (tapas), mains and desserts, the set up of the tables was extremely poor instead of the traditional entree cutlery, mains cutlery and desert cutlery they only had one type of cutlery for everything. We had been told that this is a very fancy restaurant, one of the best of Wagga Wagga, what a big disappointment.

About the food I have to say that the lamb is not too bad but 38 dollars for it is ridiculous... The two tapas we had were both salty and tasteless.. The drive is definitely not worth it. There is NO view at night

The staff wasnt too bad but once we complaint all what they said was Fair Enough.. A terrible dinning experience for 113 dollars for nothing yeah is Fair Enough to not to recommend anyone to come to this place.. Try somewhere else.

We didn't even make it through the gate before getting a serve about our children patting their cats! That really set the tone. We had made a booking weeks before as we had a fantastic time last year when we went there. I saw our meals half cooked under the heat lamp half an hour before we got them and they were just warm when we got them. Our vegies tasted like frozen ones with no seasoning, our meat had no sauce, the pizza was a pitta bread not a woodfire pizza and the chips didn't even have salt on them. We kept having to ask for cultlry to eat each course. We had stale Jatz on our cheese platter and it took an hour for our coffee to arrive. The waitress kept scooting the cats who at one point tried to taste our food. We paid alot of money for a bad experience.

A group of 8 of us went to Cottontails last Saturday night for a friend’s birthday, a night we will defiantly remember. The Wood fire King Prawn Pizza consist of 1 tasteless prawn and 1/2 a cherry tomato on each slice, which is really terrible when you are paying $30 and consider that because it is meant to be “woodfire” and you would expect it to have a decent taste. I could have brought a better pizza from Dominos for $8.
You can ignore bad food if you have really great service and vice versa, however the service on the night that we ate here was awful. The wait staff seemed more interested in socialising amongst themselves rather than serving. They were not busy as there were a total of four tables, including us dining that night, so I don’t understand why we had to keep going up to them asking for drinks. To top off the night the waitress missed my friend’s main meal and my side order and when we went up to ask what had happened the reply was a very blunt “Oh the order was missed it will be another 25mins” after already waiting 1.5hrs we couldn’t be bothered. They were not apologetic or offered any other solutions, so my friend went hungry. The only time they were prompt was when we had (yet again) gone up to them and ask for the bill. But the worst part of the night was when we had told the waitress how disappointed we were with the evening and they didn’t say anything! No apology or anything. The resturant is over priced and has extremely bad service. We didnt see the view as it was night time so driving 20 minutes out of Wagga was a bit pointless.

I will not be going to Cottontails again, nor will any of us who dined there that night be recommending it to any of our friends or colleagues.

Nothing beats Cottontails for dinner, especially in the summer when you can sit on their deck with a glass of their bubbly and enjoy the most gorgeous sunset over The Rock.......divine. Food is fab too!
