“Very good service. Creative menu. Beautiful food.”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

Over night trip to Sydney in March 2013; needed a quick and easy bite at the Rocks.

This restaurant fairs well with a lot of competition in the location.

The service was quick and friendly (hunting for tips was a bit obvious).

The menu was very creative. I had the sirloin which was cooked perfectly with an absolutely delicious sauce. The small plates are like an entree to be shared. Thee people might need 3 or 4 small plates.

“So absolutely awesome”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

We have tried many times to get a table at Pony and finally we hit the jackpot. We now know why it's so popular. These guys have got it right.

It was worth the wait. This is something else. Casual dining with fantastic food. The pork belly is melt in the mouth. Everything we ate was delicious. The service was terrific, the staff are incredibly friendly and provided some good tips on menu items. The menu has something for everyone. We were surprised when we went to pay, pleasantly surprised.

On the communal tables you are spaced far enough apart so as not to encroach on each others conversations.

We will most certainly be back. Just fantastic. A great meal in a lovely venue.

“Very busy just ok place to eat”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

We were told on a weekday that likely we would not need reservations at this lively restaurant but do make reservations just in case because this area tends to attract large business groups. We did not but thankfully they squeezed us in anyway. I thought that the food was just ok nothing to write home about considering all of the fuss about getting in.

“Good - if you like to be close to your neighbours when eating”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

Came across Pony when walking through the Rocks. The outside eating is on one long table, so you are close to others when they get busy - which appears to be a regular event. The food was tasty and the atmosphere was welcoming. A good,if expensive, experience.
