Description: We are 'Mad' about creating the most unique pizza experience in Australia. Our labour of love started in Sydney, from our belief in a demand for a healthier option, unseen in this country before. So we developed the Super thin & Healthy Pizza base, and topped it with only the finest of ingredients. We then employed the friendliest of staff, and found the coolest of locations, with the funkiest of soundtracks along the way; with this we believe we have one of the most unique, health conscience and authentic pizza experiences in Australia! It has taken thousands of hours of tasting and testing by friends, family and customers alike, culminating in our version of the prefect pizzeria. So do as the Italian's do and that's to eat with love and laughter. Salute!!

“One of the, if not the, best pizzas I've had.”

As a huge fan of quality Italian food, I would strongly recommend Mad Pizza. Fresh, flavoursome ingredients served by friendly and attentive staff in a classic cosy Italian atmosphere with a contemporary twist on the decor. My girlfriend and I visited a handful of times during our stay, sampling a range of the menu, and were not let down once - the pepperoni was a real highlight (add the anchovies and chilli if you like that kind of thing).

“Good food, but cramped quarters”
Reviewed February 16, 2014 via mobile

We had a party of 5 here on Friday (admittedly Valentine's Day). The food was really good, crispy thin pizza bases (now with a wholemeal option) and the sticky caramelized garlic bread was wonderful. The cocktails were inventive (the Holy Espresso was delish!) but are pretty sweet and we're, I felt, a little light on the booze.

My issue with this place is how cramped it was. Our party of 5 was squeezed around a table of 4. When things became really busy and they started to seat diners at the bar, there was less than 6 inches between our chairs for other diners and the staff to squeeze to. We felt the need to rush through dinner and get out of there, rather than savour and enjoy.

However, for good, fast food, it's certainly a great option in Darlibghurst.

“Fun Place”
Reviewed February 8, 2014

We paused for an early lunch on Australia Day.

The barman was a complete hoot, making us laugh from the moment we arrived. We enjoyed some great pasta and amazing banter.

The wine was very good too, overall great value and a fun place.

The Australia Day limoncello shot was 'interesting'.

“Great thin crust pizza and good atmosphere”
Reviewed January 20, 2014 via mobile

My wife and I visited mad pizza e bar for lunch in January 2014. The pizza is excellent authentic Italian thin crust pizza with quality toppings. The lunch special is individual pizzas for $12, which is a great value for a tasty pizza. I will definitely return and recommend others give this pizzeria a try as well.

“Good pizza,”
Reviewed December 24, 2013 via mobile

Had an evening meal here when we decided to stop as we were walking by due to the nice smell and saw what others were eating. The service was friendly and fast, the pizza had fresh ingredients and tasted great with the beer we were served. We sat outside as it had been a hot day and a cooling breeze had just come through, inside was still a bit too warm. A good dining experience.
