It's like walking into a wonderful taverna in Greece. The ambience is maritime - boats, tingling rigging, masses of green plants and then the wow factor - the food. We had a "feast" for 9 people.
A couple of starters followed by a selection of very greek and delicious entrees and finished off with the absolutely superb slow cooked lamb. Everything was excellent. The wonderful sensation of the food was further enhanced by the outstanding service. Each one of the guests automatically said "I will be back".
All one's senses can be enhanced by going on a virtual trip to Greece on King Street Wharf.

Great location, and the best table service we have had in a long time. Food excellent with slow roasted lamb. Terrific for a long lunch.

I ate here with a group of about 30 colleagues. We were seated over three tables and had a set menu with 2 choices for entree, 4 for mains and 2 for desert. Our 'deal' included red or white wine and still or sparkling water. The cost of the meal was included in the cost of the small conference we were attending.

I chose squid with zuchini fritters for entree; it was very tasty. For mains I had slow cooked Greek lamb with lemon and oragano rosted potatoes. It was to die for! Succulent meat that melted in your mouth. The mains came with a green leaf salad to share.

For deserts the choice was between a date & cardamom creme brulee or chocolate bougatsa with sour cherry syrup. I chose the latter and really enjoyed it. It was a bit like a chocolate slice with some cherries on the side. The chocolate was rich, but not too rich, with a nutella-like texture and flavour.

Georges hasn't got the best of views as the ferry terminal in directly in front of the restaurant. A word of warning - the address is 17 Lime Street but I couldn't fine a direct entry from Lime Street but had to go along the waterfront to enter the restaurant. I'd go back again.

the Vivid Festival made Cockle Bay a very crowded space and the potential for a long wait for dinner made us move our hungry selves further up. The bar/restaurants in King Street wharf all had music blasting out but Georges was an oasis of calm with the same seating and views as the noisy places. We were served by friendly staff and were happy with the set menu that started with a few olives, nuts and a great, fresh taramasolata with bread. This was followed by calamari and a couple of zucchini fritters that were very tasty. The calamari was cooked lightly with a tempura style batter. Very good.

Mains were the slow cooked lamb, a few wedges and a greek salad. Simple, tasty and filling. We had more than enough food. I had to finish my wife's lamb.

This hit the spot for what we wanted. We even had a view of the fireworks.

Nice restaurant for good, honest, hearty food, rather than anything spectacular.
