we were recommended to Chat Thai by the hotel concierge.
A bit of a surprise when we found that we were in a mall food hall area, and that there was a queue at 6:30pm on a Tuesday night. We only had to wait a couple of minutes before they found us a table.
Now this is not a quiet romantic dinner sort of place. The tables are packed in, and there are lots of waiters all scurrying about.
Extensive menu of all the Thai staples, and a few that you don't always see. Anyway, we had the whole fish with red curry sauce, a mussaman curry, a Green papaya salad and a shared Tom Yum soup.
All was good, although the Tom Yum was very salty and the salad although requested for hot was not particularly exciting. The mussamam curry was probably the highlight, being made with shin beef so was very moist and tender.
With one Singha beer each, and no dessert, all up A$150 so not the cheapest eat.
I would recommend it as a city lunchtime option also, but I'd think that you'd need to be early.
