This is a really nice family-run Asian restaurant. The family are Taiwanese and the food is an exciting change from the normal Chinese-style restaurants in Sydney. It has an extensive menu that is both original and reasonably priced. While the dumplings are a delight, try the Prawns in Jades Bloody Plum sauce. Quite different from any you will have tasted. If you are challenged for choice with the menu, get the head waiter, Jimmy, to choose for you. We have found his choices to be excellent . If you really like the food, you can even buy a copy of Jade and Muriel's cookbook that has the recipes for the dishes on the menu!

I used to live in Pyrmont and visit Blue Eye Dragon at least once every couple of weeks, but I now live in Singapore, and when I come back to visit, Blue Eye is my first visit!

After 6 years of going to Blue Eye, the food, service and atmosphere is still just as brilliant as ever. For about $50pp you will have a feast of the best asian food in Sydney. Wine is also very reasonably priced from about $40 per bottle.

It's great for couples, friends, or I have even had 3 events for 30 people there and the service was just as fast as when you dine as a couple. Amazing they can be that consistent!

I'd recommend the banquet which is about $60pp, and is a ten course feast. My favourite dishes are:

Prawn Dumplings (made in house, and you can buy these frozen to take home!)
Chicken Wontons with Chilli Sauce (all made in house, lovely and light!)
Salt & Pepper Soft Shell Crab (so crispy, served with garlic, chilli and shallots)
Chicken with Chinese Five Spice (crispy morsels of chicken with fried basil and a lovely salt)
Scallops in House Fish Sauce (huge scallops witha light lovely sweet/salty sauce)
Bloody Prawns (sweet sauce on huge king prawns)
Eye Fillet with Black Pepper (yup, eye fillet steak in an asian restaurant!)

Recommend to book a table, number is 02 9518 9955.

If you love it as much as i do, buy the cookbook they sell too!

With only a few days in Sydney we ventured to the the Blue Eye Dragon with a local resident. Situated close to the Casino you would expect a touristy restaurant but this beatiful place does not advertise itself, entry is through a gate with a symbol of a dragon into a large area an old school hall which is the retaurant. The food is Taiwanese and excellent. The restaurant has won a Sydney Eats Bent Food Award but is realistic in its pricing. We would recommend the dumplings and beef both are superb.
A must for every local and visitor to Sydney.

This little Asian style restaurant is a well kept secret in pyrmont round the corner from the casino. The food is simply divine. The dumplings are world class and the mains are just mouth watering. Soft shell crab is to die for! I have been here 3 times and always ordered a banquet which gives you 6 entrees and 4 mains for $50 a head. For the quality and depth of food you get, it is unreal value. The only negative is that the restaurant is an old church hall, which makes the acoustics amplify and echo off the walls and floors, making the place very loud when at full capacity. But I can live with that when I am sinking my teeth into their dumplings!! p.s. if you like, they sell some of their dumplings as take away do it yourself frozen bags.

This place has stylish decor and a nice atmosphere despite being in what seems like an old school hall. They have done a great job making the place look good and it feels very clean, comfortable and relaxing.

On the day I went there it wasn't very busy and I can imagine a peak times it would get noisy but if you are in the right mood it would give the place quite a buzz.

The food is very fresh and delicious with generous serves at reasonable prices - top quality. We let the waiter recommend our dishes and we weren't disappointed.

I will definitely be back - a great venue for a very nice lunch or dinner (especially for business if you want quality and style without a high price).
