Just went back to Doylesvat the Quay in Sydney after several months

Food is still of a very high quality and the atmosphere at Sunday Lunch was most relaxing

“So so service. Yummy food. And an amazing view.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013 via mobile

So the service is as at its best only ok. Don't get me wrong. Staff are lovely and very well intentioned but we still had our entree plates when the mains arrived, sometimes it's even hard to get their attention as they appear that busy. But you know what with a view like this restaurant has to offer. Who cares?? I just consider this a chance to linger longer as you gaze across the harbour. Food is always good. Always fresh and always tasty. Desserts are a real surprise and incredibly intricate and very delicious. Highly recommended. My suggestion as I mentioned we found the service really slow so if your in a rush I'm sure they'll make the extra effort but if not just chillax and enjoy another glass of wine.

“Always consistent and the view spectacular”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013

We at the Doyles at the Quay about a week ago. Fabulous fish and chips lunch and we also ordered some extra seafood starters. Everything was fresh and delicious and the view over the opera house is stunning! If you have good weather make sure you sit outside.

Also keep in mind there is a $29 lunch special Monday-Friday.....one bowl of seafood chowder....delicious following by either a grilled fish or fish and chips. We had both and everything was quite good.....and the location cannot be beat....nor can lunch in downtown sydney for under $35 per person all in. This also included on drink, wine or beer or soda....GREAT deal.

“Probably worth the high price fish and chips”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2013

Quality is very consistent and that is why we pay for the high price whiting quite regularly
Location of course is brilliant, as good a setting as anywhere in the world. Wine list fine to match the seafood. Quality of staff varies greatly as you would probably expect. The produce is always excellent and the cooking realiable

“Great atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2013

Outside on a really sunny winters day, eating a great seafood platter - doesn't get much better. The hot platter is delicious - not at all full of crumbed, battered and fried things. Good wine selection. Service was good, but a smile from staff wouldn't go astray.
