“gotta try the prehistoric bay bugs!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

great place for a meal. I had some form of crustacean called Moreton Bay Bugs. all I can say is you have to try them. they don't look good but, they sure do taste good. kind of a mix between Lobster and Crab. amazing!! wife had the steak. coming from Texas, I don't usually eat steak outside of the US. Oz is now an exception. the steak was very good. I liked it. it was tender and very flavorful. just as good as a texas steak. (yeah...I know...don't tell anybody I said that). if you're looking for good seafood at reasonable price (if possible in Sydney), this is it. I wouldn't steer you wrong.

“Deserves the ranking of one of Sydney's best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

My wife and I visited during June 2013, and had an excellent experience. Fish at the Rocks is located in fact...in the Rocks, just a few blocks from Sydney Harbor. There are not a ton of tables, but there is a small upstairs and balcony where there are tables too. Fish at the Rocks is listed as one of the top locations in Sydney, and it didn't disappoint us. We had great glasses of wine, rocket and pear salads, barramundi, and a bread pudding like dessert. Oh, so good. Highly recommended. Easily 5 stars ("circles")...

“Fresh Fish Anyone?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

Just down the road from The Langham in Kent Street is this local gem. Small and busy but with attentive staff ( that did get a little slow towards the end of the evening ) and a delicious menu made up mostly of fresh seafood this restaurant is not to be missed if you are staying at The Rocks.

“BEST fish dish ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

We tried the food at this restaurant by chance and were "WOWed"! It is simply amazing, so good that we had lunch AND dinner there in the same day. We were staying at a hotel nearby the restaurant and had walked passed it a few times, not thinking much of it! From outside the decor looked minimalist and every time full! We put it down to the lack of places to eat nearby until we actually went in and had the BEST fish dishes ever! Oysters are a must! they are so amazing you never want to stop! We tried a whiting dish and a black cod dish, both of which were cooked to perfection. Not to forget the young lady waitress who was extremely helpful finding out the source of the oysters for us. We will never forget our experience here.

“A great little place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013 via mobile

Our group enjoyed the early bird special at $45 per head and were able to BYO. There was a good selection of meals availab for both entree and mains. One of our party who requires gluten free was well catered for. Service was not overly attentive as there only appeared to be one waiter looking after the upstairs dining area. Nice atmosphere and decor. We will visit again.
