Dined here for dinner with a large group of folks that had been pre booked. I personally did not enjoy the food. I asked if they had brown rice and was told a straight out no. Food was quite boring and just seemed to be much of the same thing. Presentation looked rather messy. I am sure there are better places around for this type of food. Was very busy and noisy, defiantly not place to sit and relax in.

Had an excellent Chinese here, for a not unreasonable price bearing in mind it was vivid and there were views of the harbour bridge and the opera house ish .

Had a nice collection of mains one normal , one with croc and the other with kangaroo and to be honest thats the best place for skippy.

It just happened so quick, dinner gone cleared up and stacking tables away. Bearing in mind we started at 8 ish I thought it was like many a relationship, tasty but short.

Once again we ventured to have a meal at East Chinese restaurant. Sitting having a lovely meal and watching the world go by is fun.
The service is fast and professional. The food was nice, but there seems to have been a change in the size of the entrees...eg the spring rolls are smaller and on this evening had no particular taste, as did the Sui Mai dumplings which also could have been hotter, the accompanying dipping sauce was also lacking in "punch". The main dish of Duck in Plum Sauce was tasty and plentiful. The fried rice was also a bit disappointing with no flavour "impact".
Overall though, we had an enjoyable meal and we will be back another day.

The food here is really quite similar to what you'd get in other Chinese Restaurants around Sydney the only difference being that each dish costs almost double what you'd pay anywhere else. But there's a reason for that and that's the views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. We just ordered a bit less food than usual to compensate for the steep prices and both our wallets and waistlines benefited from it. All dishes were tasty and nutritious.

Been here a few times it never disappoints. Ok bit more expensive than China town but look at the view??? If you want silver service fine dining then don't go Chinese.,. Ever!!! But if you want great fresh chinese food then go here with a view to match any in the world. Food has always been fantastic, fresh and cooked to perfection. I have no hesitation in recommending The East.
