I had a booking for 3 at 130 and I requested a water view. We were on time and were promptly seated in the last row of tables in the restaurant. We had way overpriced cocktails and wine while looking through the menu. For Entrees we had oysters and honey bug ceviche. Oysters were good. I would definitely pass on the honey bug ceviche... between 3 people we didn’t even get through half. For our mains we had steak, ocean trout and a fish special which was described at John dorys ugly cousin by the waiter. Steak was described as fine and the fish special was described as flavorless. My ocean trout with the curry sauce had an excellent flavor but the fish was slightly over cooked. At that point we pasted on desert. The service was good but just couldn’t overcome the overall last table and expensive food that didn’t deliver.

This menu is even better than in previous visits. The oysters with baked tomato jam on and cheese were amazing. The bug cerviche was delicious and delicate. The seafood risotto and grilled prawns were delicious. Cheese platter was poor but the cracker was delicious

After reading a few unfavourable reviews we took the chance on Manta and we weren’t disappointed. I quickly mentioned it was our wedding anniversary and then we were seated. We started with sharing half a dozen Sydney Rock oysters - they were superb. Then we shared a tasting plate - was very good. He had a whole John Dory for main and I had scotch fillet. Both of our plates were completely empty and we were very full and satisfied so we passed on dessert. But there was a nice surprise with a sparkler and 3 small dessert tastings. Very nice touch Manta. And the service was just right. Thank you Manta a great place for a special occasion.

Had a delicious meal here two nights ago. Just a short walk from our accommodations. Very pricey but we splurged a little as it is the end of our Australian holiday. We had the seafood tasting starter, delicious. My husband had the steak and I had the sourdough crusted fish. Both very tasty. Sides are separate. I had the rocket salad with figs, very light and nice with the fish. Finished with the creme caramel, my fav. Really nice. We ate alfresco, lots of heaters so we weren’t cold on the lovely fall night. Service was really good thanks to the lovely Jack (from Portugal)

The Manta restaurant at Woolloomooloo is a great place to eat over looking the dock. I had the rib eye steak which was excellent, however it is very pricey and the steak only come with some pumpkin puree. The service was good but on the slow side.
