Description: Perched on the edge of Sydney Harbour, Manta Restaurant and Bar, located on Woolloomooloo Wharf, has firmly cemented itself as one of Sydney's iconic restaurants. Manta is able to provide guests with a unique dining experience. The incredible view, warm atmosphere, high standard of service and fresh seasonal menu ensures that your experience at Manta is truly memorable. Manta offers a plethora of seasonal seafood dishes sourced directly from Australian and New Zealand waters. Manta is also fast becoming known for its incredible cuts of grass or grainfed beef which are sourced from only the best Australian farmers. Our classically trained head chef, Daniel Hughes, moved to Sydney after a meteoric rise to success in Adelaide. With a heart-felt love of food, Daniel's dishes are instantly recognised and loved for their natural simplicity. Full time sommelier, Lyndon Stenning, has a wealth of experience and has worked in some of the world's finest restaurants. Lyndon is an awarded and acclaimed master of food and wine matching. Manta's wine list includes a selection of current and aged wines; from well-known favourites to more obscure boutique choices. Manta Restaurant and Bar aims to reflect its incredible setting: natural, fresh and inspiring. We hope to welcome you soon.

It's cool that they have outdoor seating which makes for a good evening on a summer-like night. Side-track - also pretty interesting to see 2 girls snorting coke off the toilet seat cover. GROSS.

Unfortunately the place does not have consistency in terms of portions. Had the king prawns on both visits and the portions were larger than the second.

I am still having sticker shock at how expensive Australia is on the whole.

Thank yym-sf

This was our last night in Sydney having spent two weeks travelling up the coast, we got as far as Hervey Bay/ Fraser Island before returning to Sydney prior to our return flight back to the UK.

We met up with friends whom we had not seen for several years, they had booked Manta for dinner. We were impressed by the beautiful setting that the restaurants along the Wharf have, Manta was no exception, the waiting staff were friendly and helpful allowing us to 'catch-up' & chatting before ordering.
The food & wine's were delectable, I had the calamari to start and a small fillet of beef as main we all shared some very tasty fries and green beans. Everything was cooked well and served with style. We were unfortunately too full to try the desserts.
Excellent meal & surroundings

Located along the Woloomoloo waterfront, along with about 5 other well known restaurants. We had lunch here and sat outside in the sun. Perfect ambiance. Pretty good food and very good service.

We arrived at this restaurant without a reservation and were delighted to be seated outside at a lovely table for two. We just wanted a light lunch as we had dinner reservations at Quay and didn't want to fill up too much. The menu here is heavy on seafood so it was just right. We had some oysters, a selection of raw fish dishes on a sharing plate and a spaghetti with crab meat. We both tried everything the oysters were as fresh as we have ever tasted and served with two vinaigrettes and lemon and the raw fish dish (scallop ceviche, house cured salmon and tuna) was delicious. A standout for me was the spaghetti with crab with a very generous ratio of crab meat to pasta which is sometimes lacking at other places. We had a bottle of Grosset Polish Hill Riesling and the total bill was $225 plus tip. I'd love to try this place again when we had more time.

Used a couple of vouchers for 4 of us last night. Great service and brilliant dishes. View over city skylights was a bonus.
Started with mixed entries and choice of Beef Cheek or King George Whiting. Both were delicious!
