We were hungry in The Rocks and fancied Italian. We visited this place based on the Trip Advisor reviews. It was really busy when we arrived so the staff took our details and promised to contact us once a table was free. We'd hardly started our drinks at the bar a few doors down before we were called by the restaurant, they were happy to wait until we finished our drinks.
The menu was mainly pizza and pasta with a few meat and fish dishes and some specials. We were a party of 4 with 2 veggies and 2 meat eaters. We had starters of prawns, caprese salad and rocket and parmesan salad. The prawns looked good and the salads were great, the caprese was on the small side.
We all opted for pasta for mains. Gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce was nice and light and very cheesy, the tagliatelle with pesto was fragrant and tasty without being too oily or heavy on the basil and the bolognese sauce was apparently "the best ever bolognese". So good was the bolognese that my friend requested to speak to the chef to get the secret recipe an cooking tips.
We followed with coffees and a tiramisu between 3. With 2 bottles of wine the whole meal was just over $200, the service was perfect and the atmosphere was great.
