I dined at the cbd hotel a few years ago and walked away quite underwhelmed. A revisit to the more recently rebadged Bistrode for a work function has me looking for an opportunity to return.
Olive and anchovy tart entree was very, very good and the baked sirloin main was wonderfully cooked medium-rare, even if the cut was a little gristly on the edges (a challenge for this particular cut). While I abstained from dessert, fellow diners were universally impressed. And throughout, the service was efficient and the drinks service flowed yet not over-lubricating their guests.
