When we were invited by friends to join them for Sunday lunch here our heart sank at the range of reviews on Trip Advisor. Reading the online menu the food sounded interesting but pretentious and extremely pricy for what was mainly cheap pasta dishes. What concerned us was the number of reviews of disappointing food and poor service, which did not reflect the cost charged.
We had a lovely table overlooking the waterfront and service was attentive and good until the main courses had been completed. The plain grilled filleted barramundi was superb, whilst the crab pasta was congealed too al dente and was cold.
We then waited for forty five minutes before dessert menus appeared, despite a gradual exit of other diners, so the staff were not being stretched at this time. Having finally been given these, no one came to ascertain what we wished to order and it took two requests for the bill to be prepared.
We conclude that management does not read the Trip Advisor reviews and is either unaware or indifferent to the service standard being offered, being happy that the restaurant is currently an "in" place to eat, has an attractive location and is therefore content to rest on its laurels.
We would not wish to eat there again.
