Taking visitors out to dine in Sydney is often problematic! They like to have a view, good food, service and want an experience. This is what you pay for at Otto, the service was very good, the waitress human, approachable and we even had a laugh about "the secret staircase" of which we were all bemused about. People reviewing on trip advisor really need to get a grip!

Anyhow, it's all horses for courses. In this ilk of fine cuisine, we all felt a little underwhelmed with the tastes. My husband is of italian origin so we expected a bit more regional variety. We all like a shift away from the expected and traditional to experimental, however getting a good blend of these two things, I personally feel is key to making an excellent menu in this type of dining. Otherwise it becomes a place to be seen, with a bit of unmemorable food, to remember.

A very Sydney experience sitting on a wharf next to lavish boats in the marina lapping up the water views and all that boating vibe. Oh and you are eating beautifully executed Italian inspired food. Highly recommended. Woud be a great choice for lunch or dinner especially pre or post a visit to the art gallery or the botanic gardens.

Pasta dish was truly inspired....great depth of flavour .All mains were beautifully cooked. This restaurant has great ambience attentive staff and stunning outlook!!BUT some of these top end restaurants are just getting a little to clever. The Tiramisu ,described by the waitress as deconstructed ,was terrible ,and cream with some coffee and chocolate sprinkled over it isn't really a dessert at any restaurant!!

Food was good and service was awesome as well..the server is v familiar with the menu and was able to explain each dish that came to our table v clearly. Overall it was a great experience to dine at a place where the passion revolves around food. Of cos the view and the ambiance was a bonus..what more can we ask for?...yes..a bigger bar will be nice. As the restaurant was very busy, we had to wait for abit even w reservations. Therefore, we had a couple of drinks while waiting...but there isn't a bar just a sitting area.

Took a couple of friends from LA to eat at Otto, weather, food & view of the wharf perfect but what a crappy, grumpy waitress we got. My guest asked where the bathroom was and she replied "look for the secret staircase" ...poor guy got lost in the cellar!! Servicing us seemed like a burden and she really spoilt the day.

Note to waitress.....if you don't like your job....LEAVE!

Anyway apart from the service, the food is amazingly good and would eat there again.
