Taking visitors out to dine in Sydney is often problematic! They like to have a view, good food, service and want an experience. This is what you pay for at Otto, the service was very good, the waitress human, approachable and we even had a laugh about "the secret staircase" of which we were all bemused about. People reviewing on trip advisor really need to get a grip!
Anyhow, it's all horses for courses. In this ilk of fine cuisine, we all felt a little underwhelmed with the tastes. My husband is of italian origin so we expected a bit more regional variety. We all like a shift away from the expected and traditional to experimental, however getting a good blend of these two things, I personally feel is key to making an excellent menu in this type of dining. Otherwise it becomes a place to be seen, with a bit of unmemorable food, to remember.
