This place rescued after being let down at another place. The waiter was excellent, courteos, helpful and attentive without being overbearing. Fodd was excellent too.

“Food for the masses”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

We had a set menu dinner for a group. It was close to Christmas and the place was packed, as I expected, and it was incredibly noisy. The tables are crammed very close together. The waiters were pleasant although varied in their competency. One waitress was very helpful in sorting out a change we requested in the food options..another guy took 3 attempts to understand I was ordering a bottle of wine and not just a glass. The food was average. Our fish was overcooked and dry...not acceptable for a place that specialises in seafood. Desserts quite tasty but all in all there are much better seafood restaurants in Sydney

“Decent Food; Slow Service”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

Nick's is one of a string of restaurants along the Cockle Bay wharf and Darling Harbour. They all tend to be large, open-air affairs, and can get quite busy and noisy during peak times. Food was good, service a bit "relaxed."

Look for the daily specials. Most of the restaurants along the wharf have them.

“Good food but service slow”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

We went for my birthday dinner. Had to wait 20 mins to have our order taken between entrée, and mains. Dinner was slow coming but quality good. Dinner took a few hours because of the extended delay. The restaurant was full so it was expected. Skipped dessert was it was getting so late. Staff were friendly. Seafood platter for 2 was tasty but expensive ($170) so would not recommend that.

“Average food, busy and noisy”
Reviewed December 9, 2013

Went with friends on a Friday night, definitely needed to book as wouldn't have had a table otherwise. This is a big restaurant so it becomes very busy and extremely noisy. The staff were friendly enough but were totally rushed off their feet, so we ended up waiting for service a lot of the time. The food took a long time to come and when it did was completely average. I had Barramundi which was tough and overcooked, as well as prawns which although cooked Ok still had their 'poo' canal - ie had not been cleaned. Yuck, I do not expect to have to clean my own prawns when I'm paying $6 per prawn thank you. Similarly the oysters had not been rinsed and were gritty. Overall very disappointing, overpriced and would not recommend. Have had the opportunity to return since and have walked past.
