Sharing a lot of previous reviews about Marigold here. The food is good and tasty BUT it is on pricey side, has long queues esp on weekends and the service is v poor. I guess due to the overwhelming demand the management and staff can afford to skimp on quality service. If they would fix this, it would be a tremendous restaurant.

Long time favourite of ours. Have eaten here many times over a number of years as a couple and with groups.

We love: lots of carts moving about lots of dishes for you to pick from. Meaning you can get something to eat pretty quickly. (provided you get seated quickly. )

variety of dishes.
high turn over of dishes.

The waiters change table over quickly throwing crockery around like playing cards.

We would love it more if you could get 1/2 portions of duck, salt & pepper squid etc. as they are lovely but just a bit big for 2 people...

WHat we don't like: you need to watch out for deep fried dishes that have been for a trip around the restaurant and they are cold.

Some people may not like: this place can get quite noisy and very busy (can feel cramped at times)

On reputation we decided that since we were in Darling Harbour so close to China Town that this would be great. Got a table with our friends (all up 9 of us) without a booking and the female waiter was very helpful. Food very good but very expensive. The "Manager" according to his name tag never once smiled, reached over us and our kids, and by the third time addressing our kids with such aggressiveness to curb their enthusiasm (first was the prawn crackers, second the lemonade and third the fortune cookies) we had to act and request that he do not return. If you order a beer you need to ask for a glass, if lucky you will be asked if you can use chopsticks and don't expect them to serve up the rice... Perhaps children are not welcome here!

Very disappointing and will never return!

Just super dim sum. Everything is fresh. Everything is made on site. The seafood they get in Australia, the cooking experience is from China and the outcome is an internationally spectacular meal. Yum Yum, Marigold Dim Sum
