Description: Longrain Sydney is located at 85 Commonwealth St in Surry Hills. Inspired by the communal eating philosophy of the Asian table, our menu is made up of dishes created for sharing. Longrain's menu has evolved from Martin Boetz's original Longrain vision, bringing South East Asian influences to carefully sourced ingredients with fresh, zingy flavours. His vibrant menu is carefully balanced with wines and cocktails chosen by restaurateur Sam Christie. Our long, shared tables encourage the spirit of eating together, so you can try each dish as part of a full tasting experience, just as it was intended (limited reservations available). Book one of our individual tables for parties between 6 - 10 people; or Private Dining Room for 12-18 guests.

We were recommended by several friends in Sydney to try out Longrain for its delectable modern thai food. We went on the last day of our trip to Sydney and got a table straight away since it was so early (around 6pm). We were sat at this very hip long communal table and given the menus. The service was friendly and our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu. She recommended a few dishes and took note of my food intolerances. Our food came and everything was good, but not outstanding. The only down side of the service was the our drinks took forever to arrive (half way through our mains!) and mine was way too sweet. It was some lemograss concoction. I'd go there once just to try out it out but I wouldn't really return for the food.

Dined here with 4 business colleagues, beautiful! We had the banquet and we added an extra meal which wasn't required. So much food, every dish was amazing. Eggnet, Angus beef and pork hock was the pick for me. Drinks service a little slow and they forgot a drink altogether but quickly told us they wouldn't charge us for it. Always too much food, so i would suggest ordering on the lighter side! Best with 4+ people and sharing dishes. Will def come back.

Still a very enjoyable experience. It has been close to two years since we dined so was not sure wether it would be the same.. Thankfully the food was still very very good. My only gripe with places where can't book is that you run the risk of not getting in or waiting for an exorbitantly long period of time but this was not the case as we were mid week.
Staff are friendly and efficient as always not sure but it seems beverage list has approved via cocktails.

We managed to get a table straight away, no waiting around. Service was fast, efficient and professional. We went for the banquet that's normally for 4 but they allowed us to have it just for two and a few cocktails and this came to $150. Not too bad given the amount and quality of food. The banquet gave us a really nice range of flavours, from lamb to pork to oysters to fish. The food was amazing, it wasn't quite the best food I've ever had but they've given It a good go. We will be back

A special dinner was planned with a large group of VVIPs and Longrain lived up to its reputation.

The service was expert and friendly. The food was so hot and tasty I loved every mouthful even though I needed a bottle of water to myself.

Sour orange curry was amazing.
