We booked at this prestigious restaurant only because I had received a Birthday voucher. We found the location a little odd, but easy enough to walk to from the car, on a pleasant evening. The atmosphere was pleasant, subdued lighting, soft music. The service was attentive and not overwhelming. The men choice was adequate for a seafood restaurant, but as I do not appreciate sashimi, there were some limitations. The prices were fairly high but not unusual for the type of reputation the place had. The food did not disappoint: it was fresh, delicious even if not a large serving. The drinks we found expensive, but then they usually are in these places. The dessert platter we shared was just right and delicious.

Overall a very pleasant, if expensive experience. Great for a special occasion. Could not afford to go very often.

Overall we had a very good experience due to the following (in their respective order)
1. Wonderful views as we had a superb table right by the window and the atmosphere & views at dusk were perfect.
2. Our server was superb. She was spot on in all her recommendations, friendly banter & overall professional service with a bright friendly smile each time she passed our table. It felt as if she really enjoyed her job & was proud to be associated with Flying Fish
3. The food - we had an amazing mud crab that was perfectly cooked (though all 3 of us that shared it lamented the fact that the yummy sauce was not enough!)

The restaurant had a very nice ambience and lighting was dim but not so dark that you couldn't read the menu. We had a most enjoyable evening here and would recommend this restaurant for a special evening or a romantic one but make sure you ar able to snag a table with water views. It made all the difference!

Gorgeous food and very well presented. A bit out of the way at Pyrmont but well worth it. My husband took me here for a romantic dinner and it certainly ticked all the boxes. The seared yellow fin tuna was amazing!

Having watched Peter Kuravita's two recent shows on Sri Lanka and the Pacific I was tempted to read about his restuarant and then decided to book and take my youngest daughter and her husband. The service was very welcoming, and continued to be all night. The food was also of a very high quality and worth every cent.

I popped in to Sydney the other week and just realised in all the times I've been to Flying Fish I hadn't given them a review so thought they deserved at least that

What a fantastic restaurant, not only the design and ambience, and despite being around for a while now, remains great, the superb level of service and the fantastic offering from the kitchen and the cellar makes this without doubt one of Sydney's best dining options

The freshness of the food, especially the seafood and the variety of ways it is prepared allows for no one to go un satisfied

They also have one in Fiji so there are two options to enjoy

its a great venue and a must try for anyone visiting Sydney
