I liked it and thought there could have been more for the price. Sangria was very good.

I came here last year with my husband and had a wonderful time. The Paella was superb as was the sangria. The Spanish dancers were a treat. I was keen to bring some friends to share the experience, however, was disappointed this time. The paella was not as tasty and a bit burnt, my friends decided on tapas and thought it average. The sangria was great though. Very noisy!

We went here on recommendation and weren't dissapointed. The food was great and the service even better with very switched on waiters. The vegetarian food was really good and my partner loved the meat dishes. We both enjoyed the sangria. Perfect evening!

Our tip for this restaurant is to take a seat at the bar rather than ask for a table. At the bar you get the same food and drinks, great service and an atmosphere more relaxed and in touch with an evening of tapas. It's also good entertainment watching the busy kitchen and bar staff doing their thing.

The tapas dishes here are really very good for the price, mostly $8 - $12 per dish. We recommend you start with 2 per person and add more if you are still hungry. The dishes will arrive in about 5 minutes so there's no need to be too particular about planning your whole meal at the start.

Some of our favourites include the chorizo sausage in cider, the chicken livers, any of the prawn dishes, and the russian-style potato salad. The Spanish bread comes smothered in 'hot' tomato paste - very filling so leave it alone until you've enjoyed all the tasty bits.

For drinks the sangria is the obvious choice - red wine, fruit juice, pieces of fruit and ice. A half-litre carafe is a good start for 2 people. It is not very alcoholic. Like the food, the sangria is quite good for a modest price.

Overall we recommend Casa Asturiana for a reasonably quick and casual meal in a fun Spanish atmosphere. You can also go for a full-on 3-course meal but we wouldn't really recommend it for a special occasion dinner.

This used to be a favourite when I lived in Sydney 10 years ago. While the food is still pretty good, it seems to cater mainly for tourists now and the waiting staff seem to be part-time students, rather than the Spanish owners, which detracts from the experience. Atmoshere in the back room where we were seated is lacking, although at about 9:30 pm there was very loud music and flamenco dancing in the front room, which could be atmospheric or give you indigestion!
