You should try this place for the fantastic food, which is invariably good. It puts some really interesting twists on traditional Chinese cuisine and every dish we had was well executed.

That said, we would probably not rush back. But others will.

The room is very small and noisy. Due to the closeness of tables and the particular seat I was in, I had either wait staff or others diners bumping past me about once every minute for the 90 minutes we were there.

For us it crossed the line from busy, energised and vibrant to being a bit annoying. But others will have their line in different place and love it.

Service was friendly and efficient, albeit in a fast moving rather than engaging way.

Drinks and dessert list - tiny.

Definitely try it, you will love the food and may love the experience.

Wow the food was outstanding. The restaurant surprisingly small, the service surprising casual but very attentive. We had the 10 course tasting menu. It wasn't cheap but we'll worth it. Very small serves but by the end we were so so full. Chinese like you don't know Chinese. Small rickety tables, no tablecloths but don,t be deceived, it is all about the food and wine.

I made a reservation for a 6pm to be out by 8. We ordered the set menu and could not fault the quality, quantity or value for money the food. We had a great view of the kitchen which worked like clockwork and looked clean. However each course was pumped out in such quick succession then next course was on the table before the last was eaten. We had no time to savour the flavours. We had to eat so quickly I was really disappointed not to be able to eat the last course . We were finished by 7.15 and ready to go (the service was way too quick!!). Our waitperson was not engaging, she put each dish on the table while passing through, without an explanation of each dish. The good food did not make up for the bad service:(

Our first time here, but will definitely go again. The duck was sensational and the service excellent and very friendly. However, if going as a couple, you could be seated at the long front bench, which is very cramped and private conversation and easy movement in and out is just not possible. A real shame to an otherwise very enjoyable experience.

Billy Kwong is filled with the magic of Kylie Kwong and it's always a memorable experience. It's Chinese haute cuisine at its best, which still manages to have shades of the best of peasant food, and it offers the perfect combination of visual stimulation, olfactory overload and an utter taste sensation.

The menu is always exquisite and the execution flawless without exception. It's a small place so don't plan for a 'romantic' night here in the traditional sense. But if you are after a Chinese gourmet journey, this is definitely a spot to add to your list ...
