“Good location, good price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2014

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights when we went to Sydney to see the Lion King. It was a great location, easy to get to being right opposite Central Station. There were heaps of great restaurants in the area, and it was just a short walk to the theatre. The check-in staff were great, very friendly and happy to lug our suitcases up to our second floor room for us. The room was fine, bed was comfy (but small compared to the queen we're used to!), everything was clean and tidy. We had an end room which was nice, and never heard any noise from either the hotel or the road. The ensuite was very tiny, literally just a toilet and shower, but it was all we needed. The sink was in the main room. It's an old building and the stairs and hallways have definitely seen better days, but that didn't bother us at all.

We got a double room for 79AUD. Very comfy bed, free wifi and computer in the room. Mini fridge, ensure bathroom, little bit tight. . Staff very polite and helpful. The only thing I didn't like about the room was that it had 2 big windows facing a parking lot. Apart from that, it was a very good stay for the money. Really recommend if you want to get away from noisy and dirty hostels.

Plus points: Clean room with en suite shower and WC; comfortable beds and adequate hanging space. TV with remote. Computer and free wifi. It is close to the train station and centre of city. Reasonable price for its location.
Minus points: No hand basin!!! Just a kitchen sink with no plug. Decor a bit dull.

For a cheap and convenient place to sleep Central Private Hotel is a winner.
Yes it is very average for decor but as a place to sleep it does it's job very well.
The room had a TV, computer and a shower/ toilet and mini fridge.

Location was excellent just a short walk from Central Station.

stayed here for 2 nights, end of Jan. rooms have all you need but are very outdated, old and in need of some t.l.c. it was very hot whilst we were there but rooms only have a fan.... no air con, tv is modern and all rooms have computer and super fast wifi.. only 2 mins walk to central station and 15 mins to sydney cbd.. some great little eateries just outside as well! would stay again for price an location

Room Tip: we chose an ensuite room. there are cheaper options for shared bathroom

Yes, this hotel is cheap, but I would strongly suggest to cough up a few extra dollars and to get a better place. In my room, the Wifi did not work. The carpets in the hallway were very dirty. The room had a weird smell and was incredibly hot (even though is was not very warm outside).

The Place itself is very lousy for the price: Cheap and Cheerful is one thing, but this is very very basic. Wifi and PC in the room is nice, but no AC and it got very hot. We didn't care too much since it was a place to sleep after a night out. The problem came when we opened the door to our room and found a drunken person from ANOTHER ROOM passed out on one of the beds. After some heated confrontation, we figured out that his key actually opened our room as well as his next door. Completely unacceptable.

Room Tip: Best room is one outside of this hotel. Poor Value, Poor Security and much better value can be had f...
