Great if your time is restricted and you want to spend a few hours expanding your knowledge on Australian natives. The zoo keepers are knowledgeable and passionate about their jobs, the animals look well cared for and there are opportunities to get up close and personal.

Much, much better than expected. Not huge cages for the animals, but larger than expected. Australian animals. Very interesting and great to combine with the aquarium next door.

There is nothing here that us Australians cant see in your back yard. We visited in the Summer months and it was honestly like a sauna in there. I have two young children, aged 5 & 8. Both of them were even disappointed & extremely bored.
It would be ok to visit if you were visiting Aussie but if you live here, then its a waste of money and time.

It was raining when we visited but it didn't really hamper our visit as most of animals can be viewed indoor through glass enclosure. The kids were a bit disappointed that they can't go to the outdoor section, which is limited anyway. There australian outback show was moved indoor due to the rain, got a close encounter with snakes. There are zookeepers stationed at different section. They are friendly and will offer info on the animals if you engage them. One zookeeper was holding a lizard - for visitors to pat. My kids wished the zoo had more animals. The animals looked well taken care of though their living enclosure looks small.

While my husband was out golfing I got to tour the Wild life zoo. Got to have my picture taken with a Koala! Was kinda hot in feb...perhaps jan may have been a better month. But if you have kids you have to go here.
