Owner description: Circular Quay is a colorful port where ferries and cruise ships board and depart, and boat watching can be as good a pastime as people watching. While street performers entertain outside, those wanting a more cultural experience can head into the Museum of Contemporary Art where a sculpture garden on the roof is as much a view as the waterways below.

If you are not staying in the main city....commute to circular quay in a ferry! Its simply beautiful.
On one side there is the Harbour bridge and the Opera house on the other. The nearby places are wonderful too.

Circular Quay is the place to catch a ferry to the North Shore of Sydney, take a boat trip in the harbor, hop on the ferry to Taronga Zoo, shop, eat, walk, see a cruise ship in port, site see the Harbor Bridge and the Rocks area.

“Amazing Sydney Harbour.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2013

Sydney's Circular Quay is one of the best in the world. And I have seen plenty of ports
So much to do and see.
Loads of ferry boats. Two of the best trips to do is Manly on the Northern Beaches , where there is a surf beach and a calm beach . Also loads of shops and cafes.
.And Rose Bay and Watsons Bay. the latter has a wonderful fish restaurant called Doyals.
A short walk from here is the Gap an interesting historical place.
At the quay are street performers , a cinema, and loads of restaurants. Also Mac Donalds.
There is usually a liner in port as well to look at.
Not far away is The Rocks and early settlement of Sydney.

“The Heart of Sydney”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2013

This is the heart and original gateway to Sydney. You have the beautiful Sydney Harbour, Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and The Rocks area of Sydney all within walking distance. Always bustling with buskers and performance artists. Cafes, restaurants and bars, serviced by great public transport of buses, ferries and trains. Hop on a public ferry to Rosebay or Manly for a cheap cruise on the Sydney Harbour. A trip to Manly on the ferry should be compulsory for any first time tourist to Sydney. Walk through the old Rocks area of Sydney and soak up the atmosphere. This is where everyone comes on New Years Eve in Sydney. You must also visit the Sydney Harbour Bridge Pylon Lookout for beautiful views of Circular Quay and the Harbour. You can sit down at the Quay, buy a cup of coffee and watch the world go by. I love my city of Sydney.
