Owner description: Circular Quay is a colorful port where ferries and cruise ships board and depart, and boat watching can be as good a pastime as people watching. While street performers entertain outside, those wanting a more cultural experience can head into the Museum of Contemporary Art where a sculpture garden on the roof is as much a view as the waterways below.

“Busy, old but charming”

It's always busy and always interesting too. Sit down at one of the many cafes that front the Quay and just watch the passing parade.....enjoyable. Always some quirky talented busker entertaining the crowds. Considering the volume of people it's clean and plenty of seating for basking in the sun and watching.

“The travellers hub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

Circular Quay is never quiet! The ferries criss cross the waters starting and ending here, gigantic passenger cruise liners dock alongside the Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT) and there is usually some street entertainment on offer.
The famous Opera House and Harbour Bridge are key attractions. Snack shops & cafes cater for tourists, although the ferry services are very much a part of commuter life as well.
For a stunning view, the top floor of the OPT gives you a panoramic photo opportunity.

“Busy and lively”

You have to come here anyways if you are taking the ferry to anywhere within the harbour. But one of the best attraction here is to take the monorail and go in a circle around the city.

“Buskers delight”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2013

Being a resident of Australia , we sometimes take for granted what is in our backyard. Circular Quay is one of those places when observed through the eyes of a tourist , is a world of intrigue with buskers entertaining , ferries coming and going, strret food and bag ladies. Amongst it all are children and families, sports on the water like sailing of course, but also jet boat rides which you can often get discounts to through various websites. A busy place which connects the city to a serene backdrop with our world famous Opera house in the middle sharing the pride with our Sydney Harbour Bridge A beautiful place. Just a warning to females ( even if you are not Australia) please do not attempt to play a didgeridoo even if an Aboriginal offers you. It is taboo
