Stayed here with my family on 2 occasions. We loved the relaxed atmosphere, the historical character of the place, and the fantastic location. Jeff made us feel right at home, but the big draw for the kids was his dog Mate, who keeps a keen eye out for treats during breakfast time. We would definitely return.

Jeff just sells this place with his easy going charm and helps make you feel right at home. We've stayed here twice now and have enjoyed it both times. It's a couple of minutes from Circular Quay and is one of the few historic buildings left in Sydney. That does mean that most bathrooms are not en-suite, but that's a price worth paying to stay in somewhere that's unique and not a multinational chain.

Room Tip: Ask where your bathroom is in relation to the room.

We stayed here on our honeymoon and for NYE12. The location is fantastic, literally a few mins walk to the opera house and circular quay. We could even see the opera house from our room.

Good breakfasts and a chance to chat to other guests.

We were a little supprised that over a 5 night stay the sheets were not changed.

Overall we would recommend and stay again.

I've stayed here, with my fiance 3 times and it's always great. Expect personal service from Jeff and his little friend (dog) Mate, a good solid breakfast in the morning and one of the best locations for the price, you are likely to find.

Sydney Harbour B&B is located in the heart of The Rocks (the historic district of Sydney), within a stones throw of classic and famous pubs, such as The Australia Inn and the Admiral Nelson, and some of Sydney's best restaurants. 10 minutes from the Harbour and Opera house and therefore the ferries at circular Quay, SHB&B is the perfect budget accommodation for a stop in Sydney. It's a converted boarding house with bags of character and history and considering it's cheaper than most of the big chain hotels, why wouldn't you stay here?

We've also recommended this B&B to numerous visiting family members who have all also had a great stay here.

Room Tip: A couple of rooms have a sneak peak view of the opera house. I think The Flinders room maybe?

Had a wonderful time at the B&B. Jeff was very attentive and extremely helpful when I injured myself on a boat ride. The location is wonderful and made sight seeing so easy. The room was spacious and quiet. I was concerned that our bathroom albeit private was not in the room itself but this caused no problems whatsoever as the only other room on the top floor had a private ensuite. The B&B's dog was a delight to share breakfast with.

If you need reasonably priced accommodation in a great location in the new year period, this is the place. Walking distance to everything you might want to see and do in downtown Sydney without the outrageous price tag.
However, if you require pristine and perfect hotel rooms, this is not the place for you. This establishment consists of two converted boarding houses and as a result, the building is very old and in need of some maintenance. The window blind and lamp shades in our room could have done with a bit of a hoover - very dusty. However, the furniture is fairly new with comfortable beds and good quality linens. New TV also. We stayed in the Cook room which is one of the few with own ensuite. Very private, however the bathroom could do with refurbishment. View of the opera house from the bedroom window.
The included breakfast is excellent and the common areas very nice to use. Overall a pleasant stay.
Maybe don't walk there from Circular Quay with luggage though. Very hilly and a lot of stairs.

Room Tip: Cook room has a true ensuite and is very private.

Very well located in the Rocks, within convenient walking distance of almost everything. Comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast, as well as a clothes washer and dryer. Right across the street is a first rate fitness club.

Jeff is a fine host, and for Sydney--one of the world's most expensive cities--it is very good value.
Looked very hard at alternatives; none could beat this B and B.
