“Great Location & Accommodation”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2010

Stayed four nights on a fly in fly out break away. Booked a fully self contained apartment on the 26th floor with some Darling Harbour views. This was a waste for us as we did'nt use the laundry or kitchen but good if you want to. Location was really central with every thing to fill your day and night within easy walking distance in any direction and safe. If you have a car there is parking right next door. Convenience stores close by and super market not far away. Monorail Station just round the corner. The apartment was spacious enough for lounge dining and sleeping with a king bed but dont take a lot of luggage as it wont fit in the bed room so we left it in the lounge dining area, it caused us no problem.
The bathroom had a few cracked tiles which can happen with movement in older high rise buildings and should be replaced as part of an annual maintenance program along with abit of regrouting to freshen it up abit but no deterent from staying there.
The staff were friendly and helpfull and the price we paid was reasonable.

We asked for a room with a view and were given one but the 'view' of Darling Harbour was tenuous at best. However, that was a minor point as the apartment, overall, was great for our needs and was a great size. It was serviced daily and the cleaning staff did a great job. Staff on reception very helpful and knowledgeable about the city. Location great for Darling Harbour but other than a small shopping mall and a row of predictable restaurants and bars, there wasn't much else going on. Sydney isn't a huge city so most places easily accessible on foot or by train, nearest station is Town Hall, a few minutes walk away.

We we were very impressed with the accommodation. Perfect for our needs for a 7 day stay with washing machine and dryer. Well equipped kitchen for those who require it but also a good room service for evening meals when too tired to venture out to one of the many nearby restaurants in Darling Harbour. A comfortable king sized bed and a quiet room on 24th floor which we found very clean and tidy and was serviced daily. The location was ideal and within walking distance of many of the attractions and only a short train ride into circular key. We would most definately come here again.

Mantra on Kent was our choice of hotel for a 1 week business trip. The week was crazy busy, including working over the weekend, so we wanted somewhere really central but also super safe and quiet. We got all that from Mantra and more. I had a problem with the hairdryer in my room and the staff were incredibly efficient in sorting it our straight away.

To sum up, my colleague and I would definitely stay here again and have found it to be the best of the last 4 Sydney CBD hotels we have stayed in. Goodvalue and you're within very easy walking distance of the main shopping streets, supermarket, good restaurants and the key business districts.

I stayed at the mantra on business a few weeks ago. I thought the rooms were OK - the decor looking a bit dated - but functional and clean. The apartment was really spacious - which was good if you are staying as a small family. My room was on the 5th floor - so no view whatsoever - I believe the rooms on the higher floors (not the apartments) have good views. But all in all it was quiet, very well located, just a street away from Darling Harbour and I would stay here again.

We spent 5 nights at Mantra on Kent and enjoyed it a lot. The location is excellent, our apartment was surprisingly huge and well-equipped (living-dining room, kitchen, laundry and, of course, bedroom and bathroom). The front desk staff and room service were efficient, we even had our dishes washed. Minor issues: we noticed a few cracks in the walls and stain in the sofa. Also, in our first night, the room was very cold and we couldn't set the air conditioner to warm it, but they provided us with an electric heater the next day. Overall, it's very comfortable and a great base to explore this wonderful city.

We stayed there during a "long" weekend over 2 days/nights. The service I received was warm and efficient. The apartment was huge but I would have preferred a separate bedroom rather than a "segregated bedroom area" which had two sliding doors - partially composed of frosted glass. I couldn't watch TV without the "lights" disturbing my wife and daughter in the "bedroom". For those who have extended stays the kitchen facilities would prove useful. The shower was great but I would have liked more handy towel rails. We managed to sleep well apart from some noise from the nearby monorail(there is a station just "round the corner" from the Mantra). Breakfast was a hot/cold buffet and "filled the spot nicely".
The Mantra on Kent St is in an ideal location as far as access to Darling Harbour and the Queen Victoria Building shopping areas.
Overall a good choice for us - the "Mantra" will be on our minds for future accommodation!
