“Spectacular Views”
Reviewed August 23, 2014

The harbour is accessible to all and nowhere is it more so than on this walk. Pass the boats moored at the spit, stroll through suburbia and then through light bush until you're looking out across the heads. Its even more spectacular when the weather changes - if you're brave! Don't forget your camera.

“Amazing views and wildlife”
Reviewed August 8, 2014 via mobile

From the bridge to manly wharf bar it's about 10km and you get to see the sheer beauty of Sydney's north side. Some of the small secluded beaches are spectacular. Bring lunch and take your time to enjoy them!

“A pleasant walk with good harbour views.”
Reviewed July 19, 2014

If you enjoy bush walking, the Spit to Manly walk is a good option when in the Sydney area and affords excellent views of the Harbour, City, and Manly. It follows the coast line from the Spit Bridge through bushland, and round a number of bays and inlets. Around 2 hours (assuming you aren't stopping too frequently). If travelling from the the city, a bus to the Spit, and the ferry back from Manly is what I'd recommend.

“Worth the effort”
Reviewed July 15, 2014

We started at the Spit bridge and walked to Manly. Fantastic views of the natural beauty of the harbour, especially the Manly side. A long walk, with many steps, some quite steep. Some stepped areas currently under upgrade. The walk is teasing, as although Manly ferry area is in sight, the path goes well away as it follows the bay. It took us about 3 hours,as an older couple, but if you want to stop and look at all the side paths on the way, allow much longer. Make sure you walk it with enough light to finish, and when cooler but not wet, as it could be difficult on some of the steeply stepped areas. Manly is a great place to visit, with lots of places to eat after the effort.

“Don't miss this”
Reviewed July 11, 2014

Whether you're an international or interstate visitor, or actually live in Sydney, this beautiful harbour side walk is a must-do. I grew up in this area and always love doing the Spit to Manly walk. The views are spectacular and while you're never very far from houses, there are parts where you really feel like you have 'escaped' the city. If you're moving at a good pace, it will take about 2 hours. Make sure you have water and sunscreen and if it's been raining, be careful as it can be a bit muddy and slippery. There are lots of cafes in Manly to grab a coffee and a bite at the end (try Cartel or Fika) and it's really easy to catch a bus back to the Spit bridge or a ferry back into the city.
