“Photography and quality time”

Absolutely stunning scenery. Don't miss it. Take your fav book or your traveling partner and enjoy a walk anytime of the day. There is live music, cafés and restaurants on the opposite side, and why not book a hotel in the same area? If you can afford a sensational scene from your balcony, it won't be a water of money. Oh and a tip, circle the fountain in the middle to find the rainbow!

“TakeTime Out to Enjoy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2014

The landscapers who designed Sydney did a fantastic job in preserving so much park area (as well as the nearby Botanic Gardens). Just take a walk through, or sit and read a paper or book, or just sit and enjoy. Also in Hyde Park is the War Memorial.

If you have time carry on down Macquarie Street to he Opera House and around the waterfront to Woolloomooloo

“Just be”

This park is close to various museums and two train stations. The Anzac Memorial and the Pool of Reflection is a nice place to have lunch in. There's a giant chess board where people just sit down and play with estrangers.

“It's worth a quick walk.”

Quiet Park in the city, with 2 stations at the corners. It's a simple small park with some quaint familiarities... Giant Chess Board - check, Water Fountain - check, War memorial - check, Cafes - check... lots of old school charm with period buildings and modern skyscrapers in every view.

“A great place to walk, rest or play”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2014

Right near the CBD of Sydney this large parkland area is the perfect place for a relaxing snack, to lay about on the grass reading a book or to check out the various sculptures within it.

In fact even if such parks are not your thing then you'll probably find yourself traversing this park and enjoying the shade afforded by its massive trees. That's because it effectively contains the underground train stations of St James and Museum, is right next to St Marys Cathedral and the Australian Museum, is on the way from the CBD to the nightlife area of Kings Cross, contains the ANZAC Memorial and is also right next to the Hyde Park Barracks Museum.

So if you are heading on foot to any of these attractions don't forget to stop and smell the roses. Figuratively if nothing else.
